buying advice

I'm looking for a 07 max SL. I have found two. They are both fully loaded, but one has navi, and the other doesn't. The price difference between the two is about 3500. This car will replace our current 98 max. We currently have a Garmin Navi unit. What would you guys do? Get the Navi car or the one with out?

Well I think the miles and condition are much more important than the features, although they are nice to have.

Have you got the vehicles' history reports?
How many miles? What are the difference between the two as far as miles?

Lastly, if you already have the navi then I'd go with the one without the navi in the car.(I am assuming that the car without the navi is cheaper)

The non navi has 34k and is a SL 16999 from a whole seller. Carfax is clean

The Navi car has 28k and is a SE. 20995 From a nissan dealer.

What is the difference between SE and SL

If it's a certified pre-owned I say go with the dealer car. It should be still under warranty and if you should have any issues with the car they should be able to take care of ya. There is a Blk one listed with the same price lower miles no navi though. Not feelin' that one?

for 3500 you can buy and install a fully custom dvd nav unit and a nasty custom stereo. Hell a D3 is only like $700. screw the nav. factory navigation systems are horrible.

I got my car with 25,000 miles on it for $16,550. No Navi but I am a GPS...lol. Personally I'd try to talk them down.
If that does not work-Go with the car you think you can afford.
I am all for a SE with less miles but if you are going to be hurt by the extra $3500 then go with the SL.

When it really comes down to it, the SE is just about $2000 more assuming it is still under warranty. Also you have less miles so you can enjoy the warranty longer.
Definitely talk to them about the warranty.

The dif between SE and SL is really just a navi. You already said they are both fully loaded so your not missing much. If it were an 04 it would be a different story.
Good Luck man.

look around and you will find that the '08 costs as much as an '07, so why limit yourself to just the '07 market? I went from an '02 Altima SE that handled great and then an '06 Max SL that handled like an old Buick. Right now I am looking for a low mileage '08 SE w/sliding roof.

i dont know much about the 07's...because i have an 06...but for the 06...difference between the SE & SL are the wheels (SE have 18" while SL have 17"), seats (SL have standard leather & SE arent standard), & suspension (SL have more stiff suspension than the SE), but if both are fully loaded...and only difference is the navi...i go for the SL since you got the garmin...also with the economy going down and all that...i dont know if your job is secure all that...but i personally rather save the extra $4000...but good luck bro with your decision...

Besides the wheels and spoiler, the SE has aluminum trim versus wood and has perforated leather, whereas the SL does not. I like the look of the 18 inch wheels and spoiler on the SE, but that is just me.

I say save the cash and get the SL. You can buy a portable Navi for $100. And if you have 2 vehicles like me, then you have an advantage with the portability.

Nav is actually an option that hurts resale value, most don't realize that but considering how technology ages, and the cost of replacing it.

My only advise is go to KBB.com or any other car site and put both cars in with all the options and mileage, minus the Nav so then you will see what the dealer or whoever is actually charging for the Nav option.
