Well........finally got a nice day outside and decided to paint my grille. I'm waiting on the paint to dry right now before adding the clear coats. Hopefully it turns out nice, looking good so far. Will post pics as soon as I'm done!!

The pics are up. Just a couple shots of the grille. Blacking out the head lights is the next move!!

I like what you did witht he stock grill JTJohns it looks nice. I wish I had a black car. I am also a fan of silver and smoke gray.

Ok I don't want to thread jack but I didn't think I needed a new thread just for it and It's related. Installed my new AT-F (cmod) grill yesterday and it installed all fine but I am undecided whether I should paint it or leave it stock the way it came.

ye olde grille, was peeling

being installed

installed sideview

front view

keep in mind I will be getting a tint all around and smoking out the taillights. thanks guys

I prefer stock, or get it painted car color... just my point of view. Aftermarket grilles never seem to fit

For the OP: Nice black paint job on the grille. I need to remove the peeling clearcoat on mine. One guy said he used gel paint remover, I'll try that. But I need to take it off, etc.... next week maybe.

Your right with the not fitting. It sits well but once you button it down it sticks out.. I havent put that double sided black cushion tape in their to keep it tacked down so it's sticking out quite a but in these pictures. I may paint it black like FastMax05

Thanks....I used aircraft paint remover. Anyway, it did a good job, but don't leave it on long at all!! My clear coat started bubbling as soon as I poured it on.

That looks great with the white. When you took off the emblem was it smooth or did you have to fill and holes?

It has to be filled...

Here's another project grille I have sitting around.

It's for sale BTW.

Im also looking to experiment with an old grille and paint it black.

Any suggestions on what kind of paint to use ? Do I need to prime and then add a clear coat ?

Can I just use spray paint ?

I have a new factory grille and just wanted to experiment with painting my old grille which had peeling paint.
