EGR valve is a pain in the *** to get to... it's between the engine and the cabin firewall.

Yeah the EGR is a real pain to get to. A great way to see it if you can lift the car and its actually connected from your manifold and runs into your rear exhaust header.

It has some black wrapping stuff around it. Here a pic. It should run into some sort of connection that leads to the valve itself.

Ahhh... I got the P1402 code several weeks ago and my ride started
idling all weird and over-all performing very awkward. My mechanic
said the EGR valve shouldn't be bad but it's a possibility that it is.
He advice me to get new pre-cats but those damn things are super
expensive. So yesterday I order a set of Cattman headers and they
should be arriving next week. Being that I have a good friend that
has been a automotive fabricator, mechanic and body work specialist
for over 20 years. He has taught me a lot over the years to where I
can say I'm a D.I.Y weekend mechanic. I had everything taking apart
to remove that dang EGR Valve and I couldn't get good access to the
single bolt that connects it to one of the Pre-cats. Once I have access
from underneath while pull out that precat next week it should slide right
out but still connected. Then I can remove it once it's out of the engine
bay/firewall. OH!! The bolt that everyone is referring to on the EGR valve
is huge "@ least a 31 or 32 mm" but I'm not 100% sure. You can try but it
is extremely difficult to get a good grip/access to that bolt. I was able to
get a set of grip plyers on and try to tap it loose with a small pry bar. Plus
I tried using a few solid small steal pipes that I use for difficult bolts & nuts.
If you can get it off "Please let me know how". You would be officially my hero of the year bro!!!

The pipe that their showing you above runs from the IM to the EGR Valve. Cant' miss it!!

It's really easy to remove the tube itself to see if there
is a build-up of carbon in there. Which might or might not
be the case!! Go ahead and try that out to see if it's just
a build-up. Mine was pretty clear.

Yeah the tube runs for about $60 from Nissan. Part number should be 14725-7Y001
