Maybe? however I'm not an impatient person and I feel 500 miles is a better break-in period. I've been building Red Heat for 5+ years and so far I've done most things right, plus I'm not in the mood to gamble with a 5K+ rebuild for the sake of someones expediency, it's all about ME!!!

Looking good. That black scheme really sets it off. I haven't read all of your other threads but have they featured your car in any magazine yet? After you get it tuned would be a perfect time for someone to do a photoshoot and article.

Thanks appreciate the feedback and support. I've been in Nissan Sport Magazine and mentioned again several more times. I also have several peple that use my car in calendars, websites and advertisements.

Nothing much happening, been too busy working with my new division. Working with Special Operations is a VERY busy tasking. Anyway on a good note, the engine has broken in nicely and no more annoying smoke out the rear. I even removed the oil catch can because I get little to no more oil coming out of the crank case vent. Tuning will still happen when my schedule opens because I have to also drive to Virginia to get it done and take a day off from work since it's easier to get a root canal then get a Saturday time slot that fits my schedule. Anyway, I prefer tuning when it's cooler and less humid. Overall enjoying a smoke free rides to/from work!!!

Thanks for the update. How does the car drive compared to prior to the rebuild? Other than the tune, any other plans for the car? Are you using the factory cams?

It's just so freaking Caliente ...~Tres tres Chaud...& I don't mean just your car Chern!
It was 96 F up here today in Montreal not including the humidex!

....I just bought Aaron's spacer and plate. My car is under extended warranty until Nov 2010: so far she has a new tranny since March which has been a bit of a problem as it is leaking (sweating) even after it was supposed to be fixed on August 7th. New rack & Pinion, new tie rods, new end-links and bushings, new anit-sway bars, new shocks and springs...I will probably go with KYB AGX next time. I am now looking for new top plates....should I go with Moog or KYB?
After all this I will probably get it dyno tuned...Any suggestions on computers?
I also have an AEM CAI, UDP (same as yours). Custom exhaust piping... Next mod will probably be new front calipers and LED tails...one thing at a time...all this is moyo expensivo!

I love your car and hope to see it one day in person!

Cheers from your fan and friend up here in Montreal!

Hey Deus, I'm not aware of any cams available for an 2004 Automatic. Regardless it wasn't in my rebuild budget since they would have tacked on another $1-1.2K for racing cams alone. What I have noticed is with the new low compression pistons, the lower end needs more gas and air to get up to speed but once she hit's the 3K rpm band and grabs some wind (spool up), the car surges forward like a bat out of hell. Mid band power has become white knuckles hold on!!!

Appreciate the feedback, looks like you're on a great track with the suspension and what I have found from this is torque steer lessons with a more sturdy platform which is a good thing for our FWD cars. Not to mention better handling overall. I don't only like cars that can just go fast but cannot back it up with handling and braking performance (but that's just me).

Aarons spacer kits are a plus and should add some needed lungs and cooling on the high side, the true performance comes with bigger exhaust piping, CAI (Oh and I had an Injen and then a Fujita CAI) Y-pipe, and Headers which truly lets our cars breath. Then get a dyno, get a Techno Square reflash of your ECU with the dyno run files for best reflash verse a baseline.

Until you get headers, go boost (Turbo or Super Charge) I wouldn't do a whole lot a tuning because dyno tuning is expensive and the gains will not be worth the cost. Last, I've been modding my Max for 6 years now, don't rush it, set goals and do one thing at a time, test, and tweak then move to the next thing. Never rush for the sake of other peoples agenda, it's your life behind the wheel and it's your bank account that pays for it. Do what makes you happy at your pace. Good luck and drive safe.

Thanks for the tips Chern! BTW-If I decide not to send the ECU to TS (Canada customs border BS) what computer would you suggest. I have the UR UDP, AEM CAI, and a custom exhaust pipe. I will be receiving Aarons Via plate and spacers next week.

Cheers!

When do I get to see your car in person!

get all your mods in first , get a tune up ( spark plugs oils )

and do at least 1 dyno test with your Air Fuel Ratio.

Send the copy to TS so that they know what your working with.

They can adjust the tune according your AFR on the dyno.

And a list of Specs you have to TS.

This is the best way to fully get the most out of a F-spec TS ECU.

Good luck , Maybe I'll see you again in FL again.

Hi NiZMo1o1,

Thanks for the info...my main problem is having to deal with Canada Customs they will think that I'm buying my ECU...I would have to be creative in dealing with them...I could have it shipped to a warehouse in Champlain NY. I 'm doing that now for Aaron's spacers and a CD/DVD Cabinet.

BTW. What is your experience with the LED tails....quetions for Chern...and others here...

LED tails look hot and work great, zero issues to date and I get mad props from other Max and car owners, taking my time it took me about an hour to swap out...

know actually i haven't got back to the gentlemen who was suppose to take care of that.. anyway i was the one who got robbed actually i sent someone not gunna get into names a set of the turn lamps for the bottom of the bumper. anyway after someone at his residence signed for the package he insisted he didn't receive it. So long story short after i provided proof of the delivery i come to notice the credit card company back charged the 70 i charged him. as if he didn't get a deal anyway.. so yea after it was all said and done I didn’t have the time to argue the facts due to a death in my family and when I did get to it they told me it was to late that I should have disputed the back charge earlier so he got a free set of lamps. I don’t realy care but I will have my rating taken care of thanks for bringing it to my attention..
