BOSE HAVE AN IPOD AUX.??????????

Does the BOSE system have a auxillary hook up for an IPOD or MP3 player? Most of the newer cars have this feature. My Moms 07 camry has one. If not is there a simple and inexpensive way to install one? I dont see any aux modes on the Bose so I am assuming ya cant do this. Well if Im not in the right place to ask this question Im sure some smarta-- will let us all know, seems a lot of people on this site could care less about helping someone and obsess about errors regarding proper posts.Probably cuz they dont know as much about cars as they do computers.maxman7

My 07 has the 1/8 inch aux jack. You can hook up anything that can output to that type jack. Can't control an Ipod without that kit. One exists, but I don't have an Ipod, so no interest in getting setup with that kit.

What year is yours?

04-06 maxima's dont have an AUX port.... you can get an IPod extention from nissan for $200-$300.

07-09 maxima's have an AUX port.

09 maxima's with tech package have a prebuilt ipod connector which allows you to control functions on your ipod via steering wheel control.

I have been looking into these lately. I have an '04 and I was planning on adding a amp/sub to the stock deck. I am currently using a zune fm adapter. Would much rather have a PAC, did you install it yourself? Any info on this is much appreciated. thanks

I bought my ipod interface for $118 shipped few months ago. I searched eBay again and I found these listings.

http://cgi.ebay.com/USA-Spec-iPod-In...3286.m20.l1116

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/USA-S...fAudioQ5fVideo

http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=8033

Links to the "other org" where this was discussed:

http://www.6thgenmaxima.org/forums/v...ipod+interface

You can install them yourself VERY easily. It took me 30-45 mins to install, including take off the entire center of the dash and console. It's all plug n play... no rewiring needed.

I posted this on that thread too, but anyone with an 04 Maxima should keep in mind that with the Bose system and the in-dash CD changer, installing the USA Spec adapter requires that you disconnect the in-dash CD changer. It is an easy install and sounds great, but keep that in mind if you have this setup.

believe it or not... I installed it, and can still use the cd changer. I tried few times with different CDs and still works fine... how? no freakin clue. I've been using my ipod adapter mostly though..

Believe it or not but the bose cassette player in my 04 sounds better than the CD player. I use my Samsung Delve music phone with a cassette adapter and use the sound settings on the mp3 player. The stock subs actually bump ! I have to be careful with the base and treble because its loud. Nissan really screwed up the Bose. Its a capable system and Nissan doesn't care to complete it with a good head unit. Just a waist.

Interesting ... when I installed it in my car, there was no power to the cd changer at all, and in order to use the iPod I had to select CD on the radio, not the SAT button. There was even a warning in the instructions to take the CD's out first, but I just thought that was a safety measure for removing the radio. I only realized after the install that I wouldn't have been able to get them out at that point because there was no power to the unit.

So I can only guess that there must be two different radios in the 04's. My car is an early one, bought in July of 03. Maybe they changed later in the model year?

maxman7, the one that I have known to have worked in the past is the PAC AAI-NIS2. It uses the SAT input so as long as you do not have satellite radio you will be good to go.

Auxiliary Audio Input Nissan/Infinity w/wo SAT The AAI-NIS2 works with XM/Sirius Satellite ready Infiniti and Nissan factory radios. It allows audio from devices like Apple's iPod™, VCP, MP3 players, Portable CD players, DVD players or aftermarket satellite receivers to play through the stock stereo systemradio

I just installed the PAC AOEM-NIS2 adapter so I could add an amplifier to my car, after to customizing to the PAC unit I got it to work beautifully.
My question now is on an 04 SE can I install the AOEM-NIS2 and the PAC AAI-NIS2 unit so I can have an aux input as well as an amp on the stock deck.
I want to see how long I can go without installing a new head unit because I don't feel like spending hundreds of dollars right now.
Google didn't really help me. Thanks

It should work as said above by connecting to the SAT button and the CD changer should work and music should display on dash (mine on bottom of Navi).

2004 needs the bose setup with the "SAT" button and it should work.

I've had this setup since 2007 and works flawlessly. Actually someone from this site put it in for me.

Scroll text display lines

Just installed the USA SPec Ipod Interface, but I am only able to display one line of text, and don't know how to scroll down to reach the other 3 lines. SAT button w/o a SAT receiver.
Thanks for any help.

Answer Found- Push in the tune/channel **** once, and all four lines are displayed.
