Engine Noise

idk i been having problems with my 04 for a while now..ill barely be pressing the gas to just cruise down the street and it sounds like im slowly reving the engine..its embaressing when im tryin to cruise down a neighborhood street and my engine sounds like an overloading computer lol..I tried going tons of different ways with this especially on the tranny but I really dont think it is..It shifts fine when i really get to driving but when im cruising it just sounds really loud and then the transmission picks up. it sounds very loud even when the car is idling so thats what makes me think its not the tranny..maybe im in tranny denial lol but it just doesnt make sense. I changed my spark plugs the other day and the car idle's better and smoother but the loud computer fan sound is still there and still drives the same. havent had any belts changed and im def getting a clicking noise from the passanger which is the timing chain which im gonna get replaced. Would the timing chain make the car do that? Like maybe its off by a little bit or something? I had the transmission looked at a bunch of time and sometimes the tranny fluid is burnt and then ill drain and refill and go about the same amount of milage from when they checked it last and it wont be. its freakin confussing how the car acts! i just want to get it fixed becuase i spent so much money on replacing other things to figure out the problem. Also the car lacks a lot of power and pickup, when it catches it goes but at low rpm's an cruising speed it sucks..prob gonna check my cats to see if they are clogged becuase i do get that rotten egg smell when i WOP it and especially going up my hill where i live..its just wierd becuase my mechanic (girl friends father) said the cat converter is fine..did some wierd tests to it on the exhaust tips..forget what it was called...need help on this!

Note: the car also seems to be getting too much momentum at the wrong times..my rotors are always getting warped and my brake pads are taking a beating..so is my pocket for having them turned and getting new pads so often

does it resemble a whistling/whining sound? if so there is a TSB on the secondary timing chain tensioners. if you're going to replace the primary tensioners/guides, also do the secondary tensioners.

yeah does kinda have a whistling/whining noise..i would say whining more than a whistle...theres a secondary one? well thats prob gonna cost me a hell of a lot..So i might as well get that done while i get the tensioner done huh?

I can address your rotors... get some aftermarket ones in the group deals section and be done with them warping for good... in the long run, it will save you $ and the trouble of getting them turned all the time.
