How long did it take you to get use to CVT?

For the first week or so I felt like I was always pressing the gas pedal too hard because my ear/brain had been so trained to think high rpm = hard acceleration... and even though I've had my max for a few weeks I sometimes am not quite sure if I'm accelerating casually or hard (if that makes sense). It's like I have to train myself to listen out for a different set of engine noises...

anybody know what I mean?

It didnt take very long for me. I did notice that after it warms up it will gear up real fast during inital take off from a light. This is cool if you are in the city limits where the speed limit is 35. The torque of the 3.5 will make you gain speed while only sitting at about 1500-2000 rpms. Now for fast take off, just give it about 3/4 throttle and it wont do that. Initially I didnt like it, but now im OK with it. I'm anxious to know about its longevity. Dont necessicarily pay attention to the RPMs, pay attention to your speed. The car will do the rest.

i got use to it right away... i love the fact that my head doesnt jerk each time the gear changes lol. after driving in my 08 max so long & then going into my cuzzin's civic si which is stick, i get happy that i have the cvt lol.... majority of the time im in the tiptronik mode -- esp on highways but recently ive been just stayin in Drive and just cruise.. [damn speedin ticket!!]

I'm used to it, but I drive automatics all the time with the stereo up, so you get used to just driving the car, let it do the work for you.

One thing I can't do is the manual shift. I can up shift easy as pie. But downshift to get speed, I feel like the auto side gives me better response most of the time. Still working that out...

Took me like 3 months - its a whole different philosophy: hold at rpm and wait for speed to catch up. I've been driving auto for decades, so I have always known a direct relationship between engine and ground speed. With CVT, the engine is ahead of actual speed so you almost think its slipping, but its not. I'm used to it now. Right at 10K I get 22-23 MPG consistently with about 60/40 highway/city. Pretty decent for my driving style (fast)...

I've had my car two weeks, and I can say that I've acclimated to the CVT. It definitely one of the most responsive transmissions I've ever experienced.

I don't mind the engine drone, as it's a small price to pay for being so responsive.

I know CVT that "Continuously variable transmission"

But still the idea of it not clear
Actually I don't get better till I drive after 3500 - 4000 rpm !!!
