all reflective tint is now Illegal, at least here in Hawaii it is. Even if you had it before it became Illegal, you will still get cited for it. They will make you remove you either on the spot or fine you and require you to get another safety inspection. The one you mentioned falls into that category. I recommend you check and see if your state laws have changed also.

I'd just get the standard tint... I was recommended a guy in Chicago by the chicago maxima club dot net guys. He did an awesome job too... unless you can find someone more local to you than Logan Square? Let me know, and I can point you in the right direction...

I know with Tan interior whatever tint will look lighter. The third pic doesn't look reflective.

It's only somewhat reflective on overcast days.

On sunny days is more black/smoke than silver.

I love it, I've had it for years and still get comps. on it...

I'm going to Ztech for the tint. The kid claims that Illinois passed the new law that allows 35% on front side windows. I don't know about that and he could be sending me off. I'm going to get full tint anyway. Some guy in a new black BMW with dark interior had 35% black or smoke and I could clearly still see inside the car. So I'll try 35%.

I have 18 on all windows except windshield. Got it done at a tint shop without getting a receipt. Just gotta look around. You can buy darker than 35% at walmart and do it yourself. very easy to install. My tint is needing replacement soon after almost 5 years. $200 every 5 years is not bad IMO.

Go with a metalized tint and it wont need replaced...

I'd say keep it classy and stay away from any kind a reflective tint or colored tint, either no tint or dark tint............

i have 35% tint also, i live in NY and used to say the same thing until i got pulled over last night. the cop took out his tint meter put it on the glass and the number was below 70 (the legal limit), it was 16 to be exact. BUT fortunately i had my PBA card and i was on my merry way without a ticket.

Ok I'm getting the Illinois Maxima hook up tommorrow. Not for sure but the guy said he has a Johnson film (charcoal). Well I went to http://www.johnsonwindowfilms.com/AUTO.php and the only tint that was described as Charcoal was the Silhouette.
I searched for a pic of this tint and found a good one on a similar color as my car......... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8304

Post 13. I'm going with %35 on the back windshield and %50 on the front and rears. Can't wait !

Nice, man! Remember, when you pull into the car wash, park your car inside to the right... that's where he does all his work. Ceasar is the man!

Pics when it's done!

P.S. Yeah, he has Johnson... and some other brand that I can't remember. Either way, it will be boss! He guarantees his work/materials for life too.

In Illinois, any amount of front tints are illegal. I have had state cops subtly remind me this by issuing me warnings, no tickets yet. Just remember, front tints give the police in Illinois a reason to pull you over whenever they want. Some people don't like the police...

Got tints today. Thanks Ootalec, the guy finished in one 1.5 hours and he said let it dry for two days and don't roll down the windows. 35% black all around. The tips are tucked in but I need to have them fixed asap. I'm thinking of taking off the roof spoiler. Opinions please.
