I NEED HELP! FAST

So I been having problems with my 04 SE for a while now..I got the money to get everything I wanna get fixed at once (new tranny, timing chains & tensionors, full exhuast, motor mounts and seals)

So I wanted some other honest and solid opinions from you guys before I go ahead and do all the repairs..Pretty much I have a couple problems..I know the timing chain, tensionors and seals have to be done becuase I get a horrible whining noise from the passanger side..I had the belts replaced recently and the noise is still there so I know its the chain after talking to my mechanic..but what i still dont get is how the car can drive the way it has been...Its been driving terrible for the last year or so..shimmying when i brake, steering wheel doesnt look like its aligned correctly..Ive had several allignments done on the car and two weeks later its back to where it was..the car has no power what so ever...trying to merge on the highway is the worst I have to WOP the gas pedal in order for the car to pick up to even get to 50 mph...i have a short ram intake and the intake even hits at the wrong time, it doesnt pick up and give it that jolt when its sopposed too..when i was driving today i kind of let the car coast for a minute and then it downshifted and the rpm's dropped all the way down to almost 200? way below where it idle's, the rpm's jumped back up past where it idles and the car jerked and kept going..no CEL lights, brought it to the dealer for diagnostic, nothing on the cpu comes up, no codes..whenever I hit the gas pedal to accelerate it just sounds like the engine is high pitched..sounds like its being stressed out way too much, like a dying cpu..so embarassing when im crusing in my neighborhood or anywhere else..so im pretty much asking if it really seems to be the tranny thats going or if something is clogged in my bank 1 or 2 cats cuz i have been reading about them...the one thing that leads me to that is that anytime i punch it do merge on the highway, go up a hill, or pass someone out, i get the "rotten egg sulfer smell" that the cat coverter makes when its going out...anyone else have any ideas on which route i should go with this?

^ Dam thats cold blooded..

I don't know about the pre cat thing, not counting it out because that very well could be the problem but I have headers on my car so I never have dealt with anything like that.. And as far as the tranny goes, mine started slipping a little when it got hot from spraying nitrous but I added an external cooler and that problem went away. And it's weird how your car isn't throwing any codes very weird!!! Sounds like you car has some issues that have needed be ironed out for a while now.. Good luck getting everything figured out and getting it all fixed..

I dont know about the tranny stuff, but I did have the rotten egg smell. Its fixed now. you get the rotten egg smell because the gas you use has a high sulfur content. All gas have sulfur, some more than others. The gas you are using has too much sulfer content your cats are not able to burn them off quickly so it sits there and everytime the cats get hott, bham FART smell inside the car. I have an 08 so i was all worried, car is basically new, wtf right? Well after a long search, i decided to change fuel grade and company. I went wiht shell and only use premium grade, i know some will say you dont need premium, but I diagnosed that my smell started when i used Chevron gas/lower grade. The dealer will tell you change your gas so no need going there. I just changed gas company and only put premium and i have not had the smell since, thank goddd. Also, I used to live in Meriden for like 3 years, haha. gets COLD up there. Good luck

Level 10 for the tranny. Timing chain can be adjusted. Don't go to nissan because they charge a rediculous amount to adjust. If you haven't done so allready add a fuel stablizer to your fuel and switch to premium or a different fuel company. I would have the fuel system cleaned out, sounds like you might have an injector clogging problem. If it's not electrical then it's mechanical or fuel. Chances are by your description of fuel smell and poor performance then it's the fuel. Check out chern's thread about Seafoaming the intake/throttle body. I would fill up at Shell with premium gas and add a bottle of Lucas fuel treatment to it. Also not sure on how often you change your intake but I would look at a new filter. Spectra has filters for about $20 at autozone and last a good while. For the alignment issue go to Firestone with the lifetime alignments. they have awesome equipment and you pay only once. Shimmy's can be caused by alot of things. Tell them what you are experiencing and have them fix it with the alignment. They will check everything out and tell you what needs replaced. Motor mount inserts are allmost a must if you are going to get the motor mounts replaced. Also buy the motor mounts off of EBAY, I found all three sold together for under $200. Just the front one alone at nissan is more than that. If you are getting the tranny replaced then get the tranny mount. If you are not replacing or having it removed, chances are the mount is fine, don't buy waste your money on buying a new one. Tranny mount is the most expensive one and well you can get both front mounts for $120. Motor mount inserts are about $50.

Save your money. Check out LEVEL 10 Performance. They have everything you will need for parts. They are the onestop shop for performance tranny rebuilds. I would bet it's your valvebody. send it in to Level 10 and have it beefed up. Have the transmission insides taken out and rebuilt. Buy a new high stall torque converter and close it up. If you have a transmission that has a cooler that's not heatsink type, add an aftermarket tranny cooler. This should fix it from happening again. If you have your tech use OEM parts, you can guarentee it will break again. Don't skimp on fixing the tranny to have to do it again in a year or two. Good luck and keep us posted on progress. Take pics too if the shop lets you.
