yup... but if your gonna change it to leds you might need a resistor to prevent the fastblink..

led's? why not get the crome plated yellow blinkers? Bright as OEM but are crome not yellow when off to get rid of the orage lens look.

i believe there's a thread on changing to leds but for the tails tho.. but i think it mentions that youd need a resistor for that...

I tried the silver color bulbs in my turn front turn signals. The ones i had were alright but definitely were not as bright at the stock bulbs. I picked them up from a local parts store.

I switched them last month to the 60ct smt switchback led lights and could not be happier. Definitely as bright if not brighter than the stock bulbs. They also matched perfectly the 8000k head/fog lights i installed at the same time. You can see how the parking lights look in my signature. When turn signals are activated they alternate between the blueish-white and amber.

If you really want led's don't be intimidated by installing load resistors to control the fast blinking. If you do decide to go with led's i would highly suggest you mount the resistors to a metal surface. I had mine installed up front zip-tied to my tap-connectors and parking light wires and realized they got hot enough to melt the plastic tap connectors. I relocated the resistors to the trunk. The correct wires to tap into can easily be found with a multimeter.

Each led bulb requires a 6ohm resistor. If you are just putting led's in the front you will need 6ohm resistors. If you are putting led bulbs in the front and back then 3ohm resistors are required.

If at any time you decide to replace the tail lights with the ezkoncepts led tail light housing then they have a 6ohm resistor built in but the front led bulbs still need their own 6ohm resistor. Two 6ohm resistors in parallel equals 3ohms. If you don't have a minor understanding of resistors i know it sounds confusing.

Here is a link showing the switchbacks in action in a 6th gen. I think they look even better in a 6.5gen headlight.

Yes, if you replace any blinkers on your car with LED's you will need resistors. The load resistor simulates the resistance of the incandescent bulb and restores the turn signal to normal operating function with the led. If you just do the front you will need 2 6ohm. (write up says 3 because I had both front and back)
Here's the write up i did, I found it best to put them in the back so they are hidden and out of the way. I write this up a few years ago when I was just replacing the rear bulbs to LED's. Same procedure though...

this thread kinda hyped me up... so 3m double sided tape will not do it for the resistors? since you said it heats up? and where in the back, exactly, did you place your resistors? i've been hesitant on doing this because of the resistors... i want the switchbacks too..
thanks...

No i don't think 3M tape would hold up to the heat. I let my turn signals run for 10 minutes to see how hot they get. The metal helps to dissipate some of the heat. The heat wont burn your finger prints off but it will sizzle a lil bit if you lick your finger and touch the resistor. The metal gets a bit warm too. Not enough to be a fire hazard though. I could hold my finger to the metal indefinitely. It was uncomfortable but tolerable.

I put both of mine on the drivers side. Pull the trunk lining loose on the drivers side. You will see a sheet of metal between the trunk area and fuel filler. There are two holes already there. I attached them on the fuel filler side with a short bolt and nut through the existing holes so they would not be in contact with anything but metal. Also scraped some paint and used it as my ground location. Wire taps into the tail light harness were before it split to goto the tail lights.

The correct wires to tap into can be found by piercing the wire with a needle and measuring for a varying voltage with a volt meter while the turn signal is activated. The hole made by the needle is very small and shouldn't require any tape over it but do be careful not to poke yourself.

sounds like too much work for so little gain IMO. I still suggest the chrome bulbs. The brightness is really not that noticable. The off look is what I was going for. that orange lens look is ugly. I bought my bulbs at Autozone. Plug and play. My sig shows how the lens looks with the chrome in the turns.

How about some visual aid's

Trunk lineing pulled back on the drivers side.

Resistors bolted to the metal plate.

T-taps on Green/Yellow and Green/Black wires.
Its an 07 so it should be accurate for the 08 as well.
