2004 Motor Mounts
Hey guy's I took my max in for transmission change with concerns of slight bang when deceleration and turns out they say the trans is fine. They said i have two broken motor mounts front and right side. This will cost 800 plus at dealership was wondering if it can be done by a regular mechanic and does anybody know where i can get motor mounts cheap offline. Thanks

there both real easy to do, the front one you just have to support the motor, just with a jack and a piece of wood underneith should do. then the right one? is that the one on the passenger side or driver side for the tranny? either way there the same way to change. but if you've never done car work, you can take it to some mechanic and have it done, its not a hard job at all, but just cross your fingers the rear motor mount never goes out, that thing is a B***H to get out. but the only place i have seen the mounts are at the dealership, check with www.courtesyparts.com , they have really good prices on original nissan parts

Thanks Kevin I found out that the motor mounts are covered under my extended warranty so I set up a appointment for the dealer for this saturday. I only have to put out 100 bucks for a 800 plus job, but i will check out that site for some other stuff.

they will break again unless you reinforce them. I would let them change out the mounts and then go home and add the Motor mount inserts. They reinforce the mounts for less movement and strength.
