6th Gen Jet MAF Sensor

1.turn key to on position wait 3 seconds do not start car
2.do this 5 times within 5 seconds-press gas pedal all the way to floor then relase tottally
3.wait 7 seconds then press gas pedal all the way to floor hold for 10 secs
4.when the check engine/service engine light starts to blink release the gas pedal and turn off ignition and turn back on.
that will restart the ecu clear codes for about an hour and also reset you fuel stuff like if u drive right after your max wil feel sluggish like ur not getting enough fuel don worry about that your ecu jus relearning what type fuel and the settings and all that good stuf

well it only feels sluggish for about one mile of driving approxamitly and if u are diableing the battery for 15 20 min that not resetting everything if u do it my way you reset everything even resetting the air fuel it jus recalibrateing to stock and like normal

I just installed one of these bad boys on my ride, and I can definitely feel the difference. Low end torque is restored and the acceleration is quicker. I would recommend this to anyone. Bought it for $134 on eBay. Works great if you have a CAI and flow through exhaust.

I ordered mine along with the NWP VIAS block plate. I installed the block plate 2 days ago. I'm still waiting on the JET MAF sensor to come in. I haven't really noticed a low end loss with just the NWP block plate. I do notice the car pulls harder on acceleration though from 3800 RPM and up. I'll keep you guys posted.

DYNO CHART DISPROVEN
So I took the liberty to call Jet Performance Products regarding this MAF sensor "upgrade" and they faxed me a copy of the original dyno chart from testing. Tested on a 2007 Nissan Maxima Automatic 69F Humidity 53% with no modifications proved a 3 hp maximum gain at 4500 RPM. It looks to me like horsepower is shifted instead of gained because at other RPM's horsepower is actually lost... I don't know guys. Doesn't seem worth the money to me! You can remove your spare tire and probably get the same net gain. Thoughts?

The only thing I can come up with is that the upgraded MAF sensor allows for quicker throttle response? 3 Horsepower gain is hardly noticeable... completely unlike the claims made in this forum. I'm not calling anyone a liar, just trying to get the facts straight. For those of you that have this sensor installed, what RPM is your car idling at?

I have clearly stated the best result for this chip would be best served with TUNING, not everyone has the capability to do it so are stuck with an occasional resetting of their ECU.
Last, mustang dyno's are not the best IMO, I prefer a load bearing Dyno Dynamic for my tuning. Also the car tested has a CVT transmission which could also affect the dyno outcome, verse a non-CVT, or a 6spd. Overall this chip has improved my throttle response which gets me out the gate faster.
In closing, mods are not universal for everyone to love, some mods improve one thing and limit something else, it all depends on what the driver wants based on his experience and driving conditions. Overall you can add every mod in the book, but without tuning you limit yourself to the true overall performance benefits of everything tied together. It works for me and is working for others and that's all that matters... If your research leads you to a different conclusion, don't do it, my conclusion came from behind the wheel and I haven't even had my car retuned yet!

Chern... man I couldn't agree more. That's why I'm trying to find out the basis behind the quicker throttle response if that is the true design classification of this upgrade. But I am very interested to see if the faster throttle response is possibly because the engine is running faster all the time. I don't remember who said it but somebody claimed a deeper roar from the intake and quicker starts. A deeper roar through the intake generally means more air sucked into the engine at higher rpms. Like people who put a certain size resistor in place to make the computer think its always ice cold outside you know? Input anyone?

^ Definitely a quicker throttle response...like i stated before - without the jet maf sensor the car would lag when you take off... but with this installed it just pulls off right off the line... in the dyno sheet.. its a CVT which is dyno'd... CVT's are never gunna be the same if you dyno it a second time if im not mistaken.

Anyone know where I can order it? I've tried three different places and they're all out of stock, including JEGs. I called JET and they said they would ship more out on 2/26/10. Would like one before that though.

Finally got mine yesterday and took like a minute and a half to install. I'm lovin it! Her acceleration is kickin like Jackie Chan! The throttle response is quicker and so is the acceleration. It's two thumbs up from me! I was surprised it made such a noticeable difference.

An improvement to your throttle body position can achieve that and the vehicle can perform better but still maintain the same HP. This is the awesome part about this mod that most people are overlooking or discounting.
