So much for the new ride ... SAD pictures ahead

in the first pic see the car wash ? an elderly driver was going thru it and had her foot on the gas pedal, when she exited she dropped her lincoln continental into drive and took off like a bat outta hell ran over a snow bank crossed 3 lanes of traffic to where i was travelling at 40mph. complete broadside. airbags deployed i skidded and did a 360 according to the driver of the blazer in the pic also who said he saw my tail end go around him twice. and then he collided with my passenger door. WOW and i walked away with a sprained wrist tendon ! hurts like crazy. so im 99% sure its totalled. in the second pic and my engine is almost underneath the car. Mods, please resize if possible.

Man I'm glad you are ok? It's totaled.

Start looking for a new one.

Take it easy.

I'm glad to hear you're OK and I'm also sorry for your loss...It's going to hurt to replace cause the insurance will not cover this fully. I used to have replacement value insurance up until my car was 4 but now its over 5 and I just pray that I don't get hit too. It's a crying shame...! Can you salvage anything?

I am glad to here your OK I hope everyone else is too...

But this statement about the insurance co. not covering the total cost is BS... It depends on alot of variables... but mostly what the car would apraise for before the accident and what the pay-off is..

I had a 2006 pathfinder SE totaled, it apraised for 2 grand more then what I paid for it. Geico paid off the loan balance then cut me a check for the balance = $2000.00.

Keep in mind I got one hell of a deal on the pathfinder and kept it show room clean.

Now I have the 2007 Maxima, again I got it for one hell of deal and it is in mint condition too.

Granted the cars I am speaking of were both used cars, but if you got your maxima for a deal and paid less then value of the car according to the insurance adjuster you may come out of this OK.

Good Luck....

she is 77 years old and was of course driving a solid steel tank. 1998 lincoln continental. My FX held up so good the passenger compartment is well intact aside from airbags.

that sucks!! looks like the car did its job keeping you safe though. So she was pegged at redline when she dropped it into drive? how could you not notice that?

^THIS

Where I go to school, more elderly cause accidents than college students do, amazingly enough.

Sorry to hear about the loss, dude. I've always loved the FX series. Good to hear you're all good, though.

Although, the image of an old woman with her foot to the floor dropping it into drive without realizing the gas was mashed and launching across a snow bank is kind of comical if you really think about it. Kind of sounds like something you'd see on America's Funniest Home Videos.

I have Geico (though my wife want's me to find 'lower priced insurance' I won't do it...)
Geico will treat you right, and will give you the maximum value for you car - because they get it back from the other drivers insurance company. (Assuming you have full coverage on your car)...

That does look like a heck of hit, really glad you ok (the wrist will hurt for at least 2 weeks by the way...)

you know thats what every insurance company does. i just received my 500 dollar deductible this week after my was totaled. got 10.3K for 03 with 88K miles. and this is my local insurance not some big *** company
Geico is the most overpriced insurance company just so you know

Somehow I doubt that. I was considering switching a few years ago and got quotes from three other (granted, big) companies. My premium would have been at least $200 more with any of the other companies than it was with Geico at the time.

To the OP, glad you have your health. May another Max be headed your way!

I came out ahead (thank god) on it. and I did buy a Murano SL. Same color. Not quite in love with it... Just not the same.

Deez. Sorry about your brother. I am thankful to have just walked away.

Most important you are OK, sorry about the car - can always be replaced, hope insurance won't be too much of a hassle.
