i just installed the r2c short ram nd its sooo much better than the jita, i had the fujita for 2 years nd it just kept giving me problems but soo far this one is good, nd i feel it gives more power, the only thing is its not as loud as the jita which i miss lol

Hilarious how a lot of people (3-4 so far) are jumping ship on the fujita. i can't even count the threads on how many people said that the F5 is the only one to get...now its R2c. It's like the F5 is the old myspace and the r2c is facebook now. Have my nismo for over 5 years and 0 issues. As for power increase....doubtful unless you have a remap done on your ECU.

 

Fujita sure was all the rage "back in the day"... people just didn't know any better, myself included.

But now there's a new, better option available. That is hardly a bad thing.

Is there another thread out there where you posted the difference? And if so, was it your car with the F5, then with the R2c with no other mods? Just asking as I dynoed mine years ago with little to no gain. Granted it felt like more power and poss torque but not according to the chart. Our cars seem to run a little rich.

 

I don't know - I have had no problems with my F5 - I love the sound and the increase in hp I get. I could see the rc2 being better, I would have to agree with VigilanteMax that rc2 is the new option available hence why everyone is jumping to it.

No way is it making more power than the jita and if it is... no way can you feel a difference. I still dont see how sucking hot air under the hood is better... Just my OP.

 

I've had the Nismo and the Fujita. I switched because my Nismo broke at the bypass filter. I think the Fujita is better than the Nismo because it's a "one piece" CAI but I would doubt there is anything more than a 1whp (which you won't feel) gain if any.
You also got to remember the Nismo generally costs more than the Fujita.

The nature of a CAI will cause (on our cars) low end power loss. High end gain. Yes I can feel the difference in both, I've swapped back and forth between stock and CAI several times. So I know this to be true. I've been waiting or looking for some way to combine the two since I noticed the low end loss. I even bought a second stock intake and modified it to no avail.

As far as the RC2, I am guessing/hoping and even heard, from some, that low end has come back. This would be a design factor. And you are not necessarily "sucking hot engine air" because of the heat shield and if you check the picks it seem as if it can pull cooler air up from the wheel well anyway. It does look to be the best of both worlds.

I am looking forward to trying it out but the price puts it a bit out of the impulse buying reach. So I'm saving up.

Eh... mine's still installed man. lol The bottom of the heat shield is open, so it can get air from the fender where the Fujita normally goes into.

It's all about the mental aspect, long as you feel, that is all that counts, just like you car runs better when it's clean

I had the jita on my 06 for 40k, other then the noise and the lifetime filter, Im in no rush to put an intake on my 09, for the couple miles I drove when I took the intake off, b4 I traded the 06, I really enjoyed that low end pull that goes away with the intake

Yup..I also jumped on the r2c wagon...I like it a lot,I don't think there is a significant HP increase,but the throttle response is very noticable...I mean it doesn't take much to reach the 3500 to 4000 rpm mark. I'm very satisfied,..sounds pretty beastie also,not as loud as the jita.but very beefy.

 

I'm glad you like the R2C CAI, but the price was a killer for me hence the F5 option. I have had this F5 for over 2 years+, have no issues with it and all the mods I have done so far. In any case, enjoy it brother and stay safe.

 

How do either of these compare to the Nismo CAI I just bought? Anybody with experience on these 3?

The reason people feel a difference with a short ram Vs. Cold air is because the pipe is shorter. CAI's give you more HP but short ram's give you more torque. That's what people feel and think HP, torque. It's not the brand people, they are all made pretty much the same, you just pay for the name. Ram has advantages, just like CAI does. Ram is great for people that like to have quick take offs, are paranoid about sucking in water but they are not good because they suck in hot air from under the hood, that drops your gas mileage and HP. CAI is perfect for guys like me that like to race from 40MPH rolls, like more HP, better gas mileage and not paranoid about water.

 

Would love to get the r2c but $300 is hard to swallow.

I bought a Fujita 1 week after I bought my 05 and it's been on ever since (1.5 years). It won't come off until I get rid of the car either. The sound is freakin addictive. I love redlining a gear and watching people's heads snap to see wtf that noise is. Then I push in the clutch and coast by and nobody ever thinks it's a damn maxima making all that racket.

I just got my Nismo CAI installed today and I CAN notice a difference in low end as well as high end. It doesn't have much of a sound difference, but you can feel the power. The install was perfect, just like it was made for it!

 

I just look it up on you tube. I think Im gonna get it myself. Do you know how much they cost and where can I order one.

 

I got mine from cattman. Very good customer service. The intake is quiet enough for a daily driver and is very high quality, but resonates above 5000 RPMs. Fyi

 

Does anyone have any experience with the AEM CAI? I tried to locate some info with specs, sound, success, but I have had no luck. Anyone?

 

Are there any heat shields available to purchase for the short rams?
