First owner. Bought brand new. 2008 Nissan Maxima SE.
Bought on July 4th, 2008, with 15 miles on it.
Today is December 4th, 2011.
Making it 3 years and 5 months of ownership. Today, car hit the 100,000miles mark.
I can almost say it drives better than day one of ownership.

bought @ 100K
Our 05 now has 112k and the first 12k we owned has gone very quickly. We drive this car about 600 miles per week. My daily commute is 130 round trip. My cousin had a 5th gen and 6th gen. Each exceeded 260k before the costs exceeded the worth so I am hoping to at least match that. Less a couple small issues, I love the thing. Of course that's why most of us are here... here's to hopeing we can see 300k in about 6 years!

Augie - My advice based on all the Gen 6 transmission threads is to drain and refill with Matic K. When I did this my 05 Max SE with 5 speed drained 3 quarts and I replaced with the same amount. My mileage was a little higher (108k) than yours but after three drain and refills with a couple hundred miles driven between each my Matic K now appears nice and red again. Avoid flushing the tranny fluid.
Good Luck

My 200SE just hit 131k. It was stolen 2 years ago and used in a bank robbery, they obviously didn't know how to drive a stick and burned out the clutch and it left them stranded and they got busted trying to escape!! Had to replace clutch and tranny in that instance. Other than that, just the usual suspects: ignition coils, plugs, belt, struts..

2004 maxima se 111,xxx...had a new tranny+torque converter(last 1 exploded),over heating issue(rotted coolant line, down side to living on long island),two crappy stock 6 cd changers...dont forget the 3 strut replacements under 20k as well, smh nissan

Pushing 176k on factory struts, factory 6 disc changer and 2nd rebuilt 6spd auto and going strong. Just added a Greddy SP Elite exhaust to the mix. Headed on another 6hr AZ trip this weekend (makes for a handful of Vegas trips and a handful of AZ trips with no issues and 30mpg hwy). Plan on keeping this one until it blows up.

I'm at 160,555 miles and getting ready to drain and fill the transmission and replace the drive belts. One thing I would recommend is to change the bushings for the radiator every so often. This prevents vibration and cracking of the radiator. I have changed mine 3 times so far. Ole girl is hanging tough but the front end suspension has knocking going on which i think could be the sway bar bushings and end links, will soon replace both. All in All 160,555 miles on a 2005 is still pushing strong at 80 to 90 miles an hour some days.

05 here... went over 100K about a month and a half ago. Bought it in 09 with about 18k on it. Got new brakes/rotors and new belts on her.
The dreaded tranny issues started around 95k. The AC compressor went out, so that's getting replaced next week.
So much for no longer having a car payment!!

2006 5 speed automatic SE 140,000 miles. Just replaced my valve body solenoids and fixed the famous thud when shifting into gears...my reverse gear is still a little weak tho..i think it loses pressure....other than this my max has been a great car...i take it to work from so cal to minnesota, idaho, colorado, laredo tx...no problems whatsoever

update on maxima performance with age
Tan 2004 max sl, cornfed, other mods highly classified and im not at liberty to speak about it. Ok, so i just got the damn thing and there are none.... yet Max has 111000 miles on it, had 107000 2 months ago when we purchased it. I gotta say that even with the mileage, the car feels, smells, and handles brand new. She aged like wine, you could say. My only complaint though is that there is excessive torque steer under heavy acceleration, and the springs in the rear seem a bit tired. Her but is sagging. Loking to replace them with either k sports or tiens. Not sure if i wanna do a whole damper coil over switch yet, then again im not looking to road course it any time soon. Other than that, im absolutely in love with the Max. I was takin back slightly when i saw the bose stereo with the tape deck. LOL!! That tripped me out.... This is my first nissan ever, but not my first import. Im impressed with the car, all around.
