SERIOUS KNOCKING (SOUND)

Okay so went to the dealership today to have my roof chrome strips replaced under warranty. Along with that I asked them to check a 'knocking' sound I was hearing. They told me it was the Fujita CAI that was banging around against parts of the car that the tube is next to. Trust me the sound is NOT that. It almost sounds like a tranny is knocking when it slips gear. It's loud at times, soft other times. The mods are listed below that are in or near the front of the car. I won't be able to get it on a lift until next Monday so I'll do my best to keep everyone posted. Does anyone have any idea? CV boot, steering knuckle, etc????????

I did notice that the FSTB bar and the hood rub against each other but that isn't making that NOISE. It also happens when I start from a stop, like the strut is loose and when you let your foot off the brake pedal and the brake is released from the rotor, it slips back into place......if I can't figure it out, back to the dealership, but it won't be at the one I bought it from since I don't live near it.

Mods:

CAI
Lowered springs / factory shocks
FSTB
Front end links
Traction bar links
Chassis brace (welded / all welds are still good)

The Fujita and strut bar do indeed make these noises. I would really pay some attention to them, if only to find out that it is/isn't them... those issues aren't all that serious IMO.

Looks like you have a lot of suspension mods, so check your work.

you can't start and close a thread like that. What was the cause and how did you fix it. I mean to go from serious knocking to problem fixed is a huge step. More of a leap. I mean even if it is something you might be embarrassed about, could save some others a lot of money and headache.

Sorry guys. I've also been renovating / remodeling my house so it's been a bit hectic. The sound was coming from the Traction Bars that I installed. The product worked as designed however on start / stops or going slow the sound was annoying. I took off the bars and the problem stopped.

Traction bars, yes however I went with another company. Same design, same effect on the handling of the car.

Knocks when driving at low speeds. If the vehicle is at idle it's fine. Hell even going over the drainage curb going into the driveway it occassionally makes that sound. Because I am lowered, I am more cautious 'going' over speed bumps, dips, etc. I have a tendancy to take these at angles vs. going straight.
