Keyless Entry Remote Programming

I was told by the dealership that once I attempt to program a used keyless entry remote replacement (lost keys, spare has broken attachment) that it will automatically reset the connection of the spare. Is this true? I intend to do it myself certainly, as I imagine it's simple and the dealership charges. How do I successfully program both of them? Thanks a lot.

Only the Dealer can program a blank key. You can do a Remote fob on your own(Requires a Key). For stolen Vehicle reasons only the Dealer can do the Key with code instructions from Nissan.
