TOP 3 MODS FOR HP INCREASE.. what do you think??
The best upgrade to get HP is sell the car and get a real car that has real HP, Don't waste your money trying to make this car a "racer" It's not, it is a 4 seater sedan. Luxury no, just a regular sedan....
I am guessing you don't like the A34....
I bought this car to drive around my clients in, not to waste money into making into a lost cause. The simple truth the Maxima is 4 car sedan, period. The newer Maxima is a lot more sporty, but it's still the same 4 car sedan. Want to have a good 0-60? Get a real car
I dont like a car with so many issues and the board has made it aware of it what is going with the Maximas. Hey Nice body shape and styling, but that goes away with the issues this car is plagued with
a good thread concept has been ruined by bieber.Anyway i do like this thread i think the better question is the best way to improve power:weight. Some mods add weight and are not very effective vs others(catbacks and such)
I get about 25 mpg with my Nismo CAI installed on my 04 SE. I usually cruise at about 80 so that doesn't help any.
Question to NizMo
i agree with NiZMo1o1
u can increase ur hp (easy things) ... get intake.. (cold air intake) .. get exhaust (magnaflow)... mod your ecu.... reduce weight (not much hp gain but still)....
theres so much you can do but these were fewest thing you can do and keep your range low...

I’m just an average 40 year old dude but I really enjoy my 2013 Maxima. They are great cars in my opinion. I ordered the K&N cold air intake and will probably order the magnaflow exhaust as well. I’m not looking to build some super modded Maxima but these seem simple, inexpensive, and will return a few HP. I do like the deep throated engine sound the intake gives. The question I had for you was do you have to mod the ECU with the magnaflow exhaust or is it just recommended? If you really should do it, is it a simple process that I could do myself or should I take it to a performance shop? Thanks for the advice
Get the "New Car MOD".. It's easy, Goto Car max and trade in your POS for a BOSS.. DONE!
My Years of trying to squeeze water out of a rock i've learn it's cheaper to just buy the Hp Used... Look for an old M3, E55, maybe if you're lucky an Audi S4 somewhere. Hell, if the HPFP and injector recall was done, buy a 08' 335i... You can find these all day long under 10k easy, and if you are Mech-Savy, do whatever is needed yourself to maintain a BMW, it's not hard.

Tell me, on a Naturally Aspirated car, what is the ECU upgrade doing? Fuel curve for what? Timing to readjust for what??? All ECU tuning was to compensate to extra power from turbos.. But whatever, i promise you if you do it you will feel that "phantom" power boost and a lighter pocket.
