HID and auto headlight question

HID and auto headlight question
forgive me if this was addressed somewhere on the site, but I was unable to find a match:
I recently put on the HIDs I received from you. But I JUST realized that the 'auto headlight' function cannot be disabled via the computer interface. In other words I have to cycle through the auto function in order to be able to turn on the head lights when I want to. Would have been nice if the engineers thought of placing that LAST on the list!!
How do i avoid going through the auto feature so I can avoid having my lights flick on and right off??? Also, will this possibly shorten the bulb life?

There is no way to avoid this. Are you just trying to turn on your parking lights? Sorry, don't really understand your question as when you're going to turn on the headlights the auto feature is good enough.

I haven't tried this on my 07, I just raised the twilight sensitivity so they don't come on before I'm ready to turn them on most of the time, so when I toggle through the lights only come on the one time. But I agree, what a PITA...
On my 99 Olds Intrigue the twilight sensing was mandatory, no switch to stop it, yet you could turn on the lights manually if you wanted. What I did was disconnected the light sensor on the dash panel, and shorted the circuit to remain constant closed, thus the car thought there was always daylight. That way I maintained full control, but negated the twilight sensing all together. Might be something to consider, the sensor's on the dash on these cars too I believe, it's either a closed or open circuit, but don't quote me on that. For all I know shorting the circuit could destroy some other electronics...but it's worth a look.

Yup, that is what you gotta do. Kind of a drag, but becomes 2nd nature after a short while.
