Yeah I hear ya, but for >$500 a set.... Not worth it in my opinion. If I can get 55w and be good, then that would be the route to take. Looking at my6thgen.org, there seems to be a couple guys who installed the 55w hid in their headlights without issue. I am waiting on a more firm response, however from what I read the headlights are ok just not the fog lights.

$500? E55 projector run for $50-$100 and they bolt right up. 55w wouldn't really give you a lot of better visibility than a 35w. Bulbs matter more than ballast

Have you seen a writeup on this somewhere? Also from what I understand through reading forums and whatnot, the ballast is just as important as the bulb for brightness. 55w is supposed to be around 40% brighter than the 35w setup. Even from the same company in most cases. This is a huge difference when you are talking about the maxima which uses a flap to cut off the light output for low/high beams.

my 35w kit is not as bright as my stock 9012's where considering distance of view. They are a different kelvin color so that makes a difference.

55w might be brighter but it won't help distribute the light more. 4300k will give you the most lumens.

found the writeup on the e55 conversion. Why it is not stickied is beyond me. This seems like a good idea, however I have had bad luck baking lights in the past and can't afford to mess up my headlights to get the projector in there.

I had my conversion done this past weekend. 35w/5000 and they are MUCH brighter than the 9012 that we took out. I also upgraded the fogs to Sylvania LED's.

That is a pet peeve of mine. All those pictures show me is that they are much brighter to oncoming traffic (AKA glare). What should be important is how the headlights look on the road, not head on.

Maybe I only care about blinding on coming traffic...

My point is that you must be a person who is easily peeved.
I am peeved by persons who do not practice good muzzle discipline.
I am peeved by people who think its funny to accidentally discharge their weapon.
I am peeved by people who go stupid when a camera comes out and they have a weapon in their hand...
I cant comprehend being peeved by how someone takes a picture of their car.

those hid kits blind oncoming traffic and are illegal to use.
Do it properly or don't do it.
If you want to go HID, the easiest way would be to go OEM. If that's not an option, get the proper projectors, ballasts and bulbs from TRS and adjust properly.

I'm not sure if you're serious, but if you are, lol. Obviously my point goes way over your head. I don't give a damn about how you take your pictures. I give a damn that all you care about is how your headlights look to oncoming drivers and think that because they are brighter to them that it's better. Proper headlights should only be brighter on the road. And I wouldn't really call changing bulbs from HIR2 to an "HID" 9006 a conversion.

I wanted different lights because I am used to driving European cars that have OEM HIDs and the headlights on the Maxima were pretty lousy. I went with the 5000's because I dont like the blue look of anything above that.
There is absolutely nothing blinding about these lights... And YES they are illegal, but so is my window tint, my blacked out tail lights, my intake, my exhaust, etc. Luckily, I have a "get out of jail card" that I can use on any one of these infractions.
And lastly, your point was understood... You get upset about people who take pictures of their headlights and not the road in front of the headlight. And my point was pretty simple also... Arent there more important things to get upset about?

You still don't understand. It's the fact that to you the upgrade is how it looks head on, which is pretty much what most HID kit users care about. They want that HID "look". When people ask for pictures of HID output, pictures like yours are posted. I guess it's more important for your headlights to "look" cool from the front. Again, it's not the picture, it's what the pictures say.

This is a car thread, no reason to bring up anything outside of it. And I'm not upset, I said it was a peeve, an annoyance. I've spent time properly converting my headlights to HID for better output, so people who go for the "look" annoy me, that is all.

Is it necessary to have a relay if I use a 35W setup for Hid 9006? I already converted fogs with no problems. Secondly, do our cars need cancellers for Hid?

I'm answering my own question now since it's done. Need no relay if 35w, but would recommend if using 55w. You do not need cancellers either.

Ditched my aftermarket kit and went OEM all around a year ago. Since then my battery is only lasting like 6 months. Could this be the reason and do i need to use a relay or get the factory HID harness (Using halogen harness still). Not sure what to do...any help would be appreciated

looks like a teenager argument here.

Obviously installing hids in an halogen projector/housing is illegal and unsafe.
Then you guys want to pay 50$ for a china made piece of **** 55w kit, and expect OEM projector quality.

My only comment is, if you want to go HID, buy quality parts from the retrofit source (TRS).

I did an upgrade to my stock HIDS, and I bought the new exoX-R projectors, matsushi ta gen V ballasts, and osram xenarc CBI bulbs (pure white). But, if I had to do it again, I would buy the 4300K nightbreakers instead, less glare on snow/rain, and more visible light output.

Light output has gone up dramatically, like 3 times, compared to the old projectors and ballasts and bulbs. Adjust your cutoff properly. Havent been flashed more than with my OEM hids (because yes, with all those idiots like you with hid kits, people who have no clue even flash at OEM hids now sometimes). (But then I flash them back with our nice bixenon projector and I guess they realize).
