Shimmy issue fixed??!?!

I just installed a Racingline FSB last night, as well as a Progress RSB. When I got in the car this morning and got on the interstate to go to work, there was ZERO shaking or shimmy going on with the wheel. It felt SO smooth. WHY?!?! Does anyone know why this would have fixed my shimmy? Before the install of those 2 parts at 70 MPH the car would shake VERY violently. Now if feels smooth as glass. Any answers would be wonderful. Thanks.

Hmmm....

I would think you have 3 cases.

1) Racingline FSB
2) Progress RSB
3) Wheels allignment because you replaced the sway bar...didn't you?

Either way.....congrates driving the beauty now.

I did all 3 steps and now the steering wheel doesn't shake anymore. I was getting worried about the shaking after reading about it on the forum..... but now I'm not so worried. I love driving the beauty now. Before I really dreaded getting on the interstate..... and seeing as I am on the interstate A LOT..... I really didn't like driving my car. But now it is the opposite.

You can search for shimmy issue using the search button, there are a ton of theories as to why a lot of the 6th gens shake while driving at certain speeds. Some have found that air pressure is the culprit, others have tried fixing it using expensive methods, such as tie rods, muliple sets of tires, new breaks, multiple alignments, countless tire balances......etc...
But if you don't know what it is, then you are fortunate! I hope it stays that way.

wobbling of vehicle: a wobbling motion or vibration, especially in the front wheels of a motor vehicle.

One of the first things that I did on my 05 Max was to install a Front strut bar and rear strut bar end links. Never had any vibration issues...the car handles like a cruise missile on this highway. Very Improtant: Some Strut bars are installed too high and when you go over a bump in the road the highest points on the bar hit the underside of the hood...so you need to find out where the contact points are which is obvious by the scuff marks on the bar and the hood then readjust the bar and if you're still hitting it use a dremel tool to cut out some holes on the hood just enough to clear the area. Many a member here has mistook the noise of the bar hitting the hood for strut/suspension problems! Good Luck!
