Laundry list of crap

Ok so Im a first time Nissan owner and love the car! Got a couple issues that I need to fix before I can start making her look sexy. Would really appreciate any input and see that most people on here know what they are talking about (hell of a lot more then I do!)

1. Ground strap on exhaust: How important is this? What the hell does it ground?

2. Ticking/tapping/grinding like noise on cold starts: Sounds like a muffled valve tap on cold starts but goes away after it runs for a minute or two. How do I fix this? Is it really common?

3.Power steering pump? I have a whine but its not a typical under stress kind of whine. Its consistant and will go away at an idle most times. Sounds almost like an electric motor and i cant figure out what it is. Started the day after I replaced my high pressure power steering line.

Thanks for any help!

You better hope #2 isn't your timing chain guides going, because that sounds like my issues a couple months ago. Stealership did them for about a grand, and guess what? I hear it again

Im actually afraid my car will blow! Its been this way a couple weeks and just dont know how long is safe. $1500 is alot to come up with after I just put a down payment, plates, insurance and $500 in odd and ends repairs.

Thanks for this link! Correct me if Im wrong but its saying the issue is the secondary chains and tensioners but not the primary? Should I go ahead and just do primary and tensioners?
