Hissing sound...

hey all, I have a weird issue. I just noticed this hissing sound that coming from the driver side when accelerating but it only happens between about 1900-2100 rpm. before or after no hissing.. it emanates from the driver side front fender/wheel area. it sounds almost like a turbo spooling( not as loud ) but i don't remember installing a turbo.. lol.. no MIL ... no codes that I know of.. no leaking tire.. .... I do have the stock filter system with a K&N filter... but I had that filter for a long time and this is the first I'm hearing of this noise.

i don't think its the tensioner. its a hissing/air sucking noise not that rattling type of noise a busted tensioner would make......i would like to make a video but it only happens when you are driving...

This is probably not the answer but maybe switch out that filter and see if there is any improvements in the noise. On possible answer might be a vacuum leak somewhere. You should get it diagnosed before anything.

Hopefully somebody will chime in soon with a better answer to your problem.

Have you fixed the problem ?

recently I did my timing chain fix from a shop. They replaced the guides and tensioner. I was just looking at different parts and different arears under the hood just to inspect and observed a hissing noise on the rear side of the engine. Its on the passenger side firewall where PCV fits. The mechanic told me he had to remove ac lines and release all freon but he recharged it infront of me. My car is also little low on coolant level. Any idea what this hissing noise could be ?( ~ 700 rpm )
