Absoluet Disgust!!!!

How the hell can anyone treat a car this way? I bought this Maxima recently and have had a few problems. Went to replace secondary chains and tensioners to find out it was primary chain. Look at how bad the sludge is in this motor! Makes me want to slap the taste out of whoever owned this cars mouth! Getting her cleaned up and hope that this hasnt already caused permanent and major damage.

4 quarts of cheap motor oil + 1/2 quart of ATF in the crank case, run for five-ten minutes, drain, refill with good, dependable motor oil. Should clean out and break up a lot of that stuff.

Wow, that's horrible man. It looks like the previous owner didn't take care of that car at all. Hopefully you get everything fixed up and get to enjoy this car for what it's worth.

Yeah hopefully I caught it in time. Love the car and hopefully after some tlc it will treat me right. Cant wait to drive it after this is fixed. She had a huge increase in power after a good oil change and new plugs.

I am not surprised, bro. My uncle changes his oil twice a year (Nissan), and my godfather changes his once a year (Audi). Ill-regardless of how much I jack them, they don't change their behaviour. Sucks, cause I wouldn't mind having the Audi if he treated it better.

The results from a compression-test would be interesting to see. It would, at least, give you an idea about what damage has been caused by this neglect.

That does look pretty bad. definitely try what was said above and then put some good stuff in it. You also may want the compression test done to be sure nothing worse is happening inside.

Have you looked at the engine recently since you used the seafoam. Does that stuff work? Is it even possible at this point to clean the engine to the point that all that gunk would be removed?

I'd probably unload it a this point. The resale and trade-in on that thing should still be very good.
