As of last friday after installing the BOP and resetting the ecu and average MPG gauge, thus far I have seen 2mpg increase, thats 50/50 city/highway driving, in Atlanta with the A/C running. I will keep everyone posted.

Are you guys going by the computer MPG or actually dividing miles ran by how many gallons of gas purchased?

has anyone who claims a mpg increase measured total fuel used rather than relying on the instant mpg calculator? I'm wondering if this mod isn't fooling the ecm by effecting map.

I did but my #'s are skewed. My cold air intake broke where the mounting tab was and i been riding with a hole in it. so i will have to restart my finings once i can get a replacement.

the car feels great, like it accelerates more efficiently now. i haven't had a lot of time to drive it since the install so right now i really can't say if the bop has helped with my mpg yet. my cars mpg gauge has cosistently read 14.5mpg at normal driving in nyc. today i got an oil change, new oil filter, and c-foam. also balanced my tires right before i reset the mpg gauge. i drove around BK for a while, picked up something to eat and drove home(mixed high way and city driving). when i parked it read 20.0mpg. i will update again in a few days. next on the list for me is a short ram, maganflows, and changing spark plugs. the car feels great; awesome mod for only 20 bucks.

cool. keep up the great mods and update on mpg.
haha i bought a BOP plate myself..

but recently i got my timing chain tensioner repaired under warranty.
Going to test my MPG based on repaired timing chain first.
after 2 tanks of gas i'll put on the BOP plate to see if there is an increase in MPG.

Always divide miles driven off a full tank by gallons of fuel purchased.

ok so since today there is a lot more traffic in nyc i figured it would be a better gauge of the improvement in mpg. sooo driving home from work again made two stops. mixed driving with a lot more stop and go because of traffic, when i got home and parked the car the mpg display read 17.2 mpg. i'm still very happy with the mod my computer didn't move from 14.5mpg before i got the BOP. i have not really noticed any loss of power in the low end; the car just feels like it accelerates a lot smoother. when i get on the highway she really moves, and the gas needle moves slower so no complaints. support cory and other members on the org with quality products at great prices.

Got the bop plate and I can report that I'm getting an average 27+mpg. Had it installed for 2 days. I drive a casual 70-75mph. I don't really push it unless I have too. Good stuff Cory. Props.

I can't attest to an actual legit reading with measuring what I put in versus what i got out.. But what I do know is that for the longest time my mpg read between 19.5 and 21.0 depending on my driving that day/week. After bop install.. about 2000 miles later. I am getting a constant 23.6 - 24.0 from the carputer.

I definitely notice my gas stretching longer but I am sorry I don't have an accurate definite answer for you guys. Case in point I'm lazy and seeing 24 on my carputer makes me feel better and it's only $20!!

I noticed the effect on gas mileage too..The info screen used to read 18.1- 18.5. It reads 19 -20.2 . This is NOT an actual comparison coz last week I did 60% freeways driving. My gas mileage sucks coz my office is 3miles from my home and i have to cross 3-4 signal lights (they are always RED). So lot of stop and go.

Ok I installed the BOP plate.. will fill in about the MPG in a week.

Did yall reset the ECU with that gas pedal depress/release procedure? is it necessary?

I drove 239 miles from Torrance to San Diego ( both way ). It took 8 gals from chevron 91..I measured after reseting my trip meter. when I filled in 8 gals, my fuel light just popped up and when I returned Torrance, it popped up again..driving thru 405 S at 4.30 PM, SoCal guys know what that means..with full AC and lots lots of traffic..I have JL always hitting in the trunk..I drove average 80 miles per hour while returning ( 8 PM )..with all these if I get ~ 30 MPG..I can't ask for more..I think the BOP contributed some portion of it..and the Injen CAI

Here's what Cory mentioned in Facebook :
disconnect the power cable for your system if you have 1. turn your headlights on and disconnect the battery postive and negative terminals. touch them tgether for 30 sec's. VERY IMPORTANT!! before reconnecting the terminals TURN YOUR HEADLIGHTS OFF!!!!. Connect terminals , start the car and let it sit for 20 mins after that go for a nice highway drive for 1o mins or more. This is the steps for a Idle Relearn and ECU Reset. it will also clear any codes.

I did the above method with the below additions : Probably these are not required but you don't wanna do it again..so everything at a time and relax.

after removing the cables : press the horn couple of times. depress brake couple of times..this will ensure no electricity left...also perform the ecu reset, idle volume learning as per manual after you reconnect battery..

So, nobody has come here to tell us more about the mileage gain or not. I guess it is about time I give this mod a shot and find out for myself about the mileage gain or not and performance gain or not. For $20, I can't go wrong, even if I change my mind later about it. So, I would be going ahead to place an order sometime today. If I like it, I will keep it. If I don't I would probably sell or just give it away. Let me hope I like it.

according to the mpg counter on the car i was getting 14.5 mpg consistently w/ mixed NYC driving. been a couple of weeks since i installed the coryxavier BOP; also got a generic sri a couple of weeks ago. now i'm happy to say i get 18-20mpg w/ the same type of driving. i know that people say not to trust the counter on the car too much but i also notice the difference. car drives great, the intake sounds great and the car accelerates really smooth. love to open it up on the highway now, so the extra gas helps a lot.

15.675 mpg to 18.615mpg increase. I drove it a lot harder than I usually do. I could have probably got about 20+mpg. About 40/60 city/highway driving. Best 20 dollars I spent. Highly recommend this mod. Good job Cory, and thank you.

Before BOP:
1) 21.5 mpg
2) 21.0

After BOP:
1) 21.0 mpg
2) 23.4 (More freeway driving vs all other samples)
3) Will update in 2 weeks...

*MPG calculated based on Miles driven divided by gal. gas purchased.*

thanks everyone that has posted there findings on the bop plate. from the studies it seems that people are getting an 2.5 to 3.5 increase in milage. if you were putting a tank of gas in your car per week at 16 gallons it would equal to a medium of

48 additional miles per week times 52 weeks = 2,496 additional miles per year

with 93 octane costing $4.00 per gal. $20.00 will be the best money spent on your car.

i know it sounds like a sales pitch but the numbers have been proven to speak thruth in the statement

thanks everyone for all the support. I will soon release additional products for the 6th gen family very soon. i have always understood that in times of good and bad money has not always been available to throw onto a mod for the car you love. i have been in those spots before and fully understand the needs and wants of the people. I will always think of not hurting the pockets of buyers but rather introducing them at a cost that can not be argued with 100% detail to quality.

thanks everyone for all the support recieved thus far

Cory
