You should ask for the parts number from either the mechanic or IMO the dealership. Than look on courtestyparts.com or a similar site and buy it from there. Your going to be saving some money from that and all you need to worry about is finding a good price for installation.

For the cost of the job including parts and labor, that sounds about right.

He must be using non-OEM parts. That is crazy cheap for a new condenser incl install. $300 for Nissan part.

i would get a second opinion to make sure it is not just a hose leak, which is a lot more likely and a lot cheaper.

may want to check this out first.

I'm a little confused...you said you have a place to get the parts cheap, then you want to know where to get the parts? IF the AC condensor is bad, then he is giving you a good price for fixing everything. The AC condensor is basically like a small aluminum radiator...I don't think you have to get genuine NISSAN...IMHO!

IMHO, I wouldn't necessarily go for the cheapest thing out there. You at least want this thing to last for a WHILE. I find that it's annoying to keep paying to get parts and re-installing them since that's a waste of time and money. It's better just to do it once and pretty much forget about it.

If your mechanic is giving you that price than check and see what is the brand that he is using and just google it for reviews and see if it's good or not. That's what I do with everything that I buy that's not OEM. Usually research things for about a week or two just to make sure exactly what I'm getting.
