Its always the same excuse too, "but I know a guy who knows a guy that uses one, and he's never had a problem." That's a great story and all, but at the end of the day it's your $3k repair bill.
I didn't even read your first post since its irrelevant, I don't even know why you posted that but anyway tuning with a SAFC is not cheaping out those things brand new were in the same price range of greddys emanage if you want to talk cost, if you want to talk quality and performance wise an apexi afc is the next best piggyback next to the EU thats able to work on a variety of cars and the simplest to use. There is proof of this you can't argue with opinion against fact. If you didn't ever tune a car with a piggyback a) you know little about tuning and b) how can you even comment on something you have no experience with?

I've heard of people aka ricers with no knowledge destroying their cars using a safc as well but thats because they are morons and dont know what they are doing. Like with anything if you dont know what your doing your going to **** it up. Theres a 5.5 gen maxima on here putting down 250hp at the wheels tuned on a safc. Theres TC/SC maximas putting down 300+hp at the wheels with a safc/vafc. Just like how vortech got a bad rep about there SC when it was just people were doing ghetto installs and ****ing **** up. Theres a maxima with a vortech supercharger with 100k and I think he's tuned with an afc.

Every car doesnt have a "software" tune they can get flashed on their ecu so piggybacks are the only option. If you knew anything about tuning you would understand that how can a "software" tune optimize your tune without any info other then what car you have and what mods you have?

I'm not saying flash tunes are bad I'm saying that since they are not specific to the exact car they aren't the most optimal tune and they tend to be conservative.

sorry i made that unclear, I am not getting a tune right now, i am looking around for a tune for when i get my turbo installed. The instal shop doesn't tune, so i need to find a place to tow my car after its in, im really just trying to figure out how much so i can add it into my budget.

its frustrating because i know people and have been with friends when they get their cars tuned. They don't need any kind of external device, they plug right into the ecu and their done.

but i go and call uprev licensed tune shops and they are telling me i need a 250-300 dollar controller on top of the price to tune, which is about 500-600 bucks. and then another uprev licenses shop tells me i don't need one, and BOTH of them don't know what the other guy is talking about.. doesn't make since to me, and uprev supplied the info for these shops and im starting to get irritated. wtf can't these shops get one story straight. it makes me want to avoid these people, but which one is wrong!! and who actually knows what they are talking about!

whatever, pm has been sent to churnmax, im gunna do what he did, end of story.

Like I said use common sense. If someone sounds like they are confused then they obviously don't know what they are talking about. A true "tuner" would understand not every car has a "software" developed that can be used with the every car. The ones that told you that you need a piggyback knew this and probably didn't have uprev. The ones that said you didn't probably have uprev. Tuning is never that simple what cars did these people/friends have tuned where they just went to a shop and got some software uploaded, it sounds like BS to be honest?

Some cars (mostly german) have software tunes etc but most don't...blah blah blah I've said it a thousand times, if you guys want any info just reread all my previous posts I'm done helping people who refuse to listen just do whatever you want. Bye!

Here's their website.
https://uprev.com/

This is the package I would get if I were you.
http://uprev.com/secure/osiris-tuner.html
Its reflash software, so it's similar to the software I was showing in my earlier post. You don't need any extra crap, just the data logging and reflash software, a cable, and a laptop. All you need to do is find a good local tuner, bring him the CD and the cable that comes in the package, he'll supply the laptop if you don't have one.

If you buy a cheaper package then you won't have the Osiris software that enables you to adjust things in your ECU on your own. You'll just have a map that was supplied by UpRev.

That's going to be so sick when you get a turbo put in. I would do the same but I have a 120,000 warranty till 2015 lol. I also want to trade my Max in a couple years and get a G coupe I believe. That way it comes fast stock!
