5 spd trany. help

good day my friends

today , when I driving my 04 A/T 5spd from my work to home in the highway , I was driving 80MPH suddenly I felt the trany is pushing the car and the car does not accelerating .

I stopped the car in the right side of the road to see what is the problem , turned it off , start again , shifted to D and pushed again .
trayed to move I felt like there is something holding it . I shifted to + and - I found it stuck on gear 5 and can't shift down .

I drove it at 70MPH until I arrived my home town . took it to a mechanic .
he told me to change the oil and disconnect the battery for a while .
I did what he say , the problem is gone for a while . I drove it and came back again to change the oil again to make sure that the old oil is gone.

later, I stopped at an ATM and left the car running . when I came back I found it OFF . started again and took to long to start and the problem back again . later , took it to check the ECU and I found three codes and they are the same :

P0340,Camshaft Sensor Circuit Malfunction

now the code cleared and the problem is gone . but what is the relationship between the code and the trany ????

sorry for being talkative

Change the camshaft position sensors.. Both of them. The car keeps going into limp mode/ safe mode...

Car is in fail safe mode which happens when a sensor fails. It will come back replace the part that is bad.

This. Same thing happened to me a couple of months ago and after replacing the sensors the problem has not come back. It could just be one of the sensors but you may as well replace them both, they're not too expensive.

You shouldnt be driving it anyway. Just buy the parts and take it to an indy mechanic. If you want to take care of it yourself. You should invest in a chilton repair manual. Step by step info.

OK . I bought 2 camshaft sensors . I have installed the first one but I cannot find the second one .
so I opened the upper intake manifold trying to find the second one but I couldn't find it .

after all I took the car to a shop .
