Custom Grilles

Gents,
Many of you have really nice custom grilles. I plan to swap my OEM grille for something different. Right now I am undecided whether I want to go with a mesh or billet type grille. I was wondering whether some of you might be able to supply me with some info on where you have gotten yours. I'd love to see pix if you want to show yours off as it might help me decide easier. I have been searching places but still haven't found a site where I can really look at some good shots to help me determine what I like best. I am grateful if you don't mind helping.

What does (or will) your car look like? That will help determine what type of grill to get. Seeing that you have an 04, I'd recommend against the C-mod until they redesign it.

Joe, I'm unfamiliar with the C-mod you mentioned. Can you elaborate a bit more?

BTW...I really like your Max, Joe. Very clean and hot. What size wheels and tires are you running?

I did and I do and it doesn't work the wonders you think it does many times.

That's unique. So, you cut out the big ugly and then used the mesh to back the OEM grille border? I like how it looks, and you did a very nice clean job with it. I'm not sure I'd be skilled enough or patient enough to pull it off. Nice work!

This is the C-mod grill. It is unproportional and doesn't fit well. Here you can see how far into the grill opening it sits. The best grills of this type were the Redline and the MaxPower (these might have also been Redline) grills, both of which are unfortunately discontinued.

Thanks, the wheels in the sig are 20x10.5 with 255/35/20, but I am back to 20x8.5 225/35/20 fronts and 20x10.5 255/35/20 rears until I refinish my "new" wheels.

He can't do this to a 6th gen grill.

Someone is selling a carbon fiber grill on ebay that may be in my future. If I got it, I would mount my Street Scene mesh behind it and the put a thin red stripe down the sides and across the bottom to match the theme of my car.

That would be very hot on your car given your scheme.

I've seen that one, and it looks like it has a pretty good design, doesn't look too bulky and the edges look sharp. It appears to fit pretty well in the opening as well.

Thank you, I try to keep it as simple as I can.

You can get the street scene grille and have it powder coated whatever color you like. Looks pretty good too:

Also, you can modify this grille as well. Just have someone take out the bar in the middle and re-finish it or have it powder coated. It'll look something like mine:
