Rear view mirror question...

I have a compass and auto dim on rearview mirror and all of the sudden it turned off and won't comeback on. The Garage opener works without a problem. Is there a fuse that fixes the problem or is there a battery I can change?

Thanks in advance

You might unplug the mirror for a few. It may reset itself.

Tried unplugging, but nothing changed. Still only garage opener works.

The auto dimming feature of the mirror could have just crapped out. I've had that happen to me in the past with previous cars i've owned. After a while of the mirror not working, it will eventually start looking like this...

I'm not sure if auto dimming mirrors can be repaired. I've always replaced mine. The last car I owned with an auto dimming mirror was expensive, so I just replaced it with a standard mirror instead.

In the fuse panel under the dash, check the 10amp fuse, right side, third one up.

Checked fuse. 3rd 1 up right side and also the 1 marked mirror on the panel, but all seem to be ok.

Get a new mirror. If the fuse is not blown then the circuit in the mirror is.

What about the side view mirrors? those aren't working either. The dimming.

It must be cuz it went out again. I tried messng with connection, but nothing brings it back now. I even tried resetting car by removing battery, but no luck.

The dimming function of the outside mirrors goes through the rear view mirror.

The FSM does not provide any information on the garage door functions but i would assume that the fuse that you checked also supplies power to the garage door opener buttons. Pull that and i bet they quit working. Rules out problems with the wiring before the rear view mirror.

I thinks it is a bad solder joint and i bet if you tap on the mirror it will start functioning intermittently. Get you a soldering iron and open it up and fix it or get a new mirror.

I tried tapping, nudging and even punching it LOL no trace of life. Gonna have to try the dealer for estimate to see if it's something that won't cost me $150.
