new guy here (Boulder, CO members please look)

hey peeps.. been lurking for a while reading up and doing research..

i currently have a 02 5spd Sport G20 which i'll be passing down to my son soon.. i've been back and forth alot thinking what to replace the g20 with.. and i finally decided to get a 06 6spd Max.. my DD HAS to be a stick.. I'm from Nashville TN..

so that bring me to posting..
i've been searching for a while and found out that finding a 6spd 6gen is just as hard as it was finding the 5spd g20....
i found a private seller in Boulder, CO but i dont want a car with salt damage..
is there any members in that area that can check the car out for me? i can pp $20 for gas..

Just get the salt damage car if it's a good price and threat it.With the 6spd you can't go wrong.Got mine for about 6yrs and no major problems yet.Still modifying it.

Guys, I'm gonna tell you what I told ToXIc.

"salt damage" is really a thing of the past. Lived here all my life, coast states humidity is much worse on a car than the salt we have here in Co. Think about it, it doesn't snow all the time, but it is humid in those states all the time. Mostly the use Magnesium Chloride on the road, not salt. You don't want to leave that on your chrome wheels, which I why I have a winter setup.

You want the car checked out mechanically, you can mention "salt damage" but you want all the other stuff checked out. A/C hoses, tranny, etc.

After a snow, wash the car and from time to time you drive through a car wash with an under carriage spray and you are good.

Yeah it does snow here. Get some snow tires. Early snow caught me off guard

Exactly!!! Regardless if the car has snow damage or not as long as you live where snow falls you'll eventually get salt on the car. Threat the car with a professional rust proof and get into the habbit of washing your car 1-2 times a week.

Leaving the snow to sit on the car and rims is what causes the salt damage. As the previous comment said snow damage is the lease of your issues because it's an inexpensive maintanance. Engine, tranny and AC is what you should look for. Everything else should cost as much
