6th gen exhaust

Hey guys just bought an 05 Max and am interested in an exhaust system. I want to not too loud and would prefer a deep growl. I like the look of the car stock but wouldnt mind fiddling with teh exhaust. Please let me know the best way to go. Thanks in advance.

nismo4life has 1, he has 1 of the other vids and is a friend of mine here in Dallas. I heard it in person and sounds amazing.

He also has ypipe so not sure if that is adding to sound but sounds really good.

Do you think it worth the 900-1100 dollars that they are selling for?

imo no. I would probably find less expensive exhaust setup.

For that money I would get a tune , bop, im spacer, cai, ypipe and call it quits.

Are there any others that sound as good as the Greddy exhaust?

With the right components and sizes Magnaflow can sound great on a max but Greddy is great and a one stop shop

thats how much a greddy cat back costs for a 6th gen?!? jeezuss for that i bought an ebay cat back, intake and filter (and cai), SS y pipe, 00vi and a vafc 2 for my 4th gen LOL

ebay cat back ftw. i'd splurge on the greddy if i was making a show car but for some sound ebay is great and a lot of ebay systems are SS304 and mandrel bent. Sometimes there are fitment issues but they're far from a headache and definitely worth saving all of that money.

Sometimes people get the piping and throw on some magnaflow muffs.

Make sure when you look at those ebay muffs you check the piping. A lot of them are 2 1/4 piping. But you want at least 2.5"

I have a 2004 Maxima SL with 92000 miles. I had the timing chain replaced at 82000 miles and now I need a front catalytic converter. can anyone tell me what a fair price for this should be?

No, make your own thread and I'll answer your questions.

Here check out my fanken muffler setup. I can tell you where I got all the parts if interested. It sounds amazing. I get pretty decent comments and questions about what's under the hood a lot. Not too annoying while driving either.

i was reading up on the recommended ebay catback and had two questions:

is the claim of "Increase up to 15-20 horsepower" realistic when talking about swapping out the stock 6th gen setup?

is the 2.25" piping okay? one user mentions wanting at least 2.5", but from reading past threads it's clear that many are using this setup without problem.

everything comes with claims of increased horsepower. Dyno sheets are really all the proof we can go by most of the time. Even that can be faked if someone wants to. I mean it is all about weight loss, less restriction on the engine, and better tone. Think of it this way. is it easier for you to exhale out your mouth or through a straw. I mean you put less strain on your lungs exhaling out your mouth. A lot of the restrictions on the exhaust are there for emissions to be honest. the developers of the engines don't put an engine on their workbench and include a full exhaust with 4 cats and a resonator.

I really like the sound on your setup. Can you list the parts you bought? Thanks.

I got exactly what you need man. I spent some money on mine though and it's probably the best one i've heard. I wouldn't change it for a thing
