Mesh Grille Recommendations (C-Mod)

Hey guys just looking into getting a c-mod grille or something along those lines if you have any other suggestions to similar styles. I was leaning more towards the newer sport design since it looks more flush than the original. But after reading a 2 page post on fitting issues regarding "the new design" making me waaaaay hesitant. Also if anyone has pics of similar grilles styles with links to where I might be able to get one that would me awesome. I know many of you have sick grilles that aren't c-mod and would love to see them. Thanks for the help!

Pretty much stuck on these:

Those cmodgrilles don't fit 100%. Horrible if you ask me. There's some on ebay for less that come with pre-drilled holes that just needs to prep and paint if you desire.

Yeah I was looking at ones on ebay but wasn't sure how I would paint the mesh just right. Yeah 06BlckMax that was the post I was talking about. Dosen't look terrible from afar (actually looks cool) but looks tight on the sides (not a biggie) but the top not being flush with the hood does it for me. Checked ebay and found http://cmodgrilles.auctivacommerce.c...-P2611395.aspx I guess they downed the price b/c of the manufacturing error? Any recommendations for a website or place that can match the grey Nissan paint?

Thanks Blck, deff will look into that for the grey or even if i decide to spray a different grille. Would say that too Chris but imo they make best looking mesh grille thats the easiest to find. Was going to jump on one this week but I am for sure going to shop around now. What do you guys think of this one? http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/Spy...M04_BK/853304/ not as nice mesh but the top looks like its drilled compared to the mod (maybe a better fit?).

I have a C-Mod one and have had 0 issues with fitment and quality. It all depends on what batch you get it from I guess.

I will not support that company and will prevent any business going their way if I can. They sold pieces of ****, know it, and if you want to replace it whenever they finish their modified mold you have to pay for shipping. They'll give you a minimal discount if you help (work for) them. If they actually come out with a grille that fits, that's great, but in the end, f#ck them lol.

The carbon fiber grille (CEC style) is probably the best designed and fitting grille of that style that I've seen. It has sharper lines unlike the original C-Mod which match the lines of the car a lot more. It looks like the BS style may be a copy of that grille in fiberglass, but I'm not 100%. Most people go for the C-Mod because of the price, but it seems there are better options.

Thanks Joe those look awesome but if anything probably would want to stick in the ~$150-160 mark (college kid) and therefore get the regular BS style after researching how to paint it correctly.

yeah man, I was looking at the spyder one too. i think im gonna go with it. i'll take some pics when i get it but might be a little bit cuz im saving for a front end as well. its way cheaper than all the other ones and other than the mesh it looks just as good. this is my fav by far but for 225 im gonna have to pass for now http://www.activetuning.com/products...MX-04S4.1GRIL/

The active tuning site takes you to ebay which has nothing. I don't think they are selling them anymore

If you do purchase that one, be sure to ask about their return policy. Do a test fit before you do anything to it and make sure it fits correctly and doesn't look like the original C-Mod grille. What color is your car and what color do you plan on painting the grille?

I just recently joined the Maxima family (2005 SE). The first thing I put on the list to change was the grille. I looked at the C mods and my first impression was Mr. Potato Head lips (ok, showin my age). I opted for the EBay Billet cheapos. Would not recommend them as they do not fit well. After considerable massaging, got them mounted and I like the looks. My first impression was, Bentley.

Will do with the return policy. After reading a bunch of different reviews about meshed grilles it seems that its really about the luck of the draw and/or often times require some sort of modification whether it may be minor to you're completely F'ed. Probably going to wait till I'm home before I make an major moves now since my tool selection I brought with me in my apartment is nothing compared to my dads garage (handy man). I have a grey 06 max SL, I'm torn between painting the boarder grey (think it looks a little better) or go all black.
