Door lock actuator

Door lock actuator
So my rear passenger door lock actuator suddenly got very weak. It will still open and close but it seems as if it has very little power. Also, I can hear that it sounds different from the other ones. Sounds broken. I've read that this is pretty common for Nissan's. I can get a new one for $60 from the dealership but I was wondering if there is anything I can do to repair the old one? It's the rear so it's not as a big deal as the front would be. But still annoying. Any help appreciated.

No they are all pretty well sealed. There's pretty much no way to clean them out. They're not serviceable at all. When mine started going I replaced them myself and had a good look at them. Better off just buying them and replacing them yourself. Took about 2 hours for the first one, and once I knew what i was doing it was way shorter than that. The rear doors don't have the metal plate in front of all the workings and are easier to get into than the front doors so you're in luck.

Only because a buddy of mine works at the dealership, regular was $120. Still cheaper

Actually this thread shows really well how to remove the door panels, handle and actuator. I used it when I was first taking apart my doors.
