Upper Intake Question

Has anyone sanded down and shined up the stock intake manifold? I am in the process of doing this and was looking for some tips on the final shine and maybe shortcuts someone might have taken to get it looking beautimous... I have pics and will post them when done, but want to include a quick write up along with it. I am not going to do the whole upper intake, because I am not taking that damn thing off again anytime soon. I just took it off to install new valve cover gaskets, PCV valve, and Thermo intake spacer gaskets this weekend and decided to shine this thing up. Would have done it while it was off, but had to throw it all back together and get it to Nissan on Sat so they could change out my Rack and Pinion and CV axles. So now I am trying to get it done while installed and when it comes off next time I will allot enough time to do the other side. Out of sight out of mind. I only have about 4 hours into it, and it looks great already. Might make a weekend out of finishing the other side. So any ideas/shortcuts or any pics of this done that you guys can share? And don't tell me get an aftermarket one and save time. I like the stock one, just not the finish of it.

wow so no one on here as polished up their intake manifold? I figured someone had done it. It is not hard just time consuming. Wish I had an extra one laying around to do, save my back and allow me easier access to the hard to reach areas.

I thought about porting and polishing, but I have read that the reason they have them designed with small bumps is to help in atomization. Could be an incorrect statement, but if it's on the internet is has to be true right :P. Plus I don't have that kind of time. Port and polish takes a lot of work and time. I will post pics of the outside when done. I have to tackle my tail lights this weekend and then I can devote more time to the intake job.

That looks good but i'm anti-chrome so my preference would definitely be a gloss of flat black. Looks good though
