Got in a big wreck...

I had just gotten off of work, and was on the freeway. Traffic was stopped in my lane so I stopped. The driver behind me didn't stop in time and completely destroyed the rear end of my car. The passenger side curtain bags also deployed when the impact sent me to the concrete barrier. Sigh, it's been fun guys...been an active member on this forum since 2002. Learned a lot, and met some great people in the process.

big pic I know, deal with it.

I'm a bit sore, but not sure how fast he was going. I guess he hit me going at least 45-50? He did try to brake but too bad he didn't notice the stopped traffic sooner.

Sorry to hear what happened. Things like this wouldn't happen if people just paid fckn attention... I hope you're ok cause that was a big hit. Take it easy for a while. Injuries don't tend to surface right away.

Man, that's terrible. Sorry this had to happen to you bro. Wishing you the best of luck, and I hope that you are able to make the best of the situation and come back stronger with whatever you decide to get into next.

damn.... im sorry man. Well, the plus side is you now have all the justification in the world to spend money on an upgrade. Tell the insurance company you are sore and your back hurts. They will send you a settlement if you sign papers not to sue, something to the tune of 2-8 grand depending on who they are and how bad you hurt. That could mean the difference in the new car you buy.

However T_behr got it right, the back lash of pain and suffering doesn't really start right away. In a few more days you might notice some problems, so don't sign anything until you are confident your medical bills can be covered, if they try and screw you out of coverage you still have the option to sue.

Man, sorry to see this happen to you bro, hope you're okay. One thing to consider if there's any problem collecting is neglect on the driver's part, like destracted driving. Then it takes a little different approach because that's proven neglect on his part. If it ever has to go to court, a view of his phone bill at the time of the accident changes the game a bit.

Damn man at least you're OK. Sorry to see this. Amazes me how people drive these days. How do you not notice everyone in front of you has stopped? Now that my daily driver is a bike it pisses me off even more. I hope karma ***** slaps the driver who hit you.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm glad I walked away from the wreck. I never want to hear the sound of that car hitting my car ever again

Will post more pics later. I'm trying to salvage what I can.

Sorry for your loss! The car did it's job though, keeping you alive in an accident is what it does in addition to moving you from A to B.

glad you weren't hurt badly. with a hit that hard, you will begin to feel sore, and if your head whipped in various directions, you may have torn a couple of muscles. Get yourself looked at, and start physical therapy as soon as possible to lessen the damage that remains. hope all goes well for you in the claims process.

Not sure if I'm going to get another max...I had a 3rd gen, and a 6th gen. Not really feeling the 7th gen's design.

Being a fellow Texan, I see those types of crashes far too often here in Dallas. Glad that you are ok, and can talk about this. You did have a clean Max
