Does anybody have transmission problems with their Maxima?

Attention please...I have a 06 Max..with 75k with no warranty and the transmission started to act up. I was very concerned I took my car to a transmission place which is very reputable and they told me I needed a new trans..it was going to cost me 5k.. I was really mad so I knew that the dealer was not going to help me so I started searching on line and I found out that there are a lot of Maximas car owners that that are having the same issue. ( http://www.topclassactions.com/lawsu...action-lawsuit.. So I called the Nissan Headquarters and reported my case and I told them that there were a lot of defective maximas with bad transmissions from 2004-06 and Nissan should be responsible to fix their problem. They told me that they were really sorry and that they will investigate the issue and that anybody that is having issues with their maxima specially the transmission should reported so they can have a recall on 6th generation maximas. At the moment it looks like they will fix my problem and on Monday they will get back to me because they will check with all the nissan dealers the numbers of maximas that are coming back with trans problems. So if you have trans problems with your maxima take 10 minutes to report your issue to Nissan corporation at
1800-647-7261. The more we report the better Nissan will be forced to fix the problems...

I know of people who have called and got the run around. Either they dont cal back or when you call again they break out the bad news. Nissan Corp has mad so much money replacing the 04-06 transmisions...it is a cash cow for them/dealerships. It's BS that they dont know about it. I once got into a little discussion with a fellow member stating what statistical proof that I have regarding the 6th gen 04-06's transmissions being inferior... Ppl like him never take the time to just go through the darn forums and see the ccomplaints. He actually tried to argue the transmission failure rate is equal or similar to a Camry, Avalon, or Accords (competing models). Idiotic.

I'm having trouble with my transmission as well. It will not shift gears in drive and am wondering if it will need to be replaced.

From time to time, when I would turn my car on, the car would cut off right after. When I'd start it again and give it some gas, it would stay on from then on.

Not sure if this behavior added to the problem or not. Has anyone ever experienced this? I can not afford a f**king transmission. Please help!

P.S.- I plan on doing a partial flush of my fluid and changing the filter. Will this help?

I have an '04 with the 5 speed Auto. Bought it a year and a half ago, and immediately changed the fluid to Amsoil (took about an hour), and it is smooth and reliable.
