Led turn signal fix

I just acquired my 05 max n am in love with the car. This is my second maxima and leaving things stock is not an option in my book. My question is abt led turn signals n tail lights. I have gotten a couple different answers as to what to do. I am wanting to put switchback turn signals in the front and the IPCW led tail lights. I know I can put load resistors on my car to fix the "hyperflashing" but to me that defeats the whole purpose of using LEDs n the first place. I was wondering about changing the flasher on the car. Can anyone tell me where it's located and if it even has one? I only want to use resitors as a last resort.

I dont understand you saying it defeats the whole purpose of using LEDs

No resistors - hyperflash

resistors - blink like normal

What does that have to do with defeating the purpose

I meant that it defeats the purpose of being more energy efficient. Not only do LEDs look great, bright as the sun, but they also serve the purpose of being a lot more energy efficient. To me, using load resistors defeat the whole purpose of using LEDs in the first place. In being more energy efficient I was thinking that it would use the alternator less and in return better mpg. I know this sounds funny but I do a lot of night driving and I was raised on a farm. During our busy seasons we would work late nights and at times around the clock and at night our machinery would run hotter temps and consume more fuel because they were running the alternator mor because of the lights being on!

Flash rate is controlled by the BCM. The click you hear with the turn signal is just a clicking mechanism.

So is the problem here that you don't want to install the resistors?

Not if I could instal a flasher or something equivalent to a flasher that will work with LEDs. But if the BCM controls the flash rate then I have no choice but to install resistors. I don't have anything against them just wanted to avoid them if at all possible.

I did the LED all around. Did the resistors at each light ( turn signals) and no hyper flash but during the day my info screen and ac lights flash with the turn signals and they dim on brake. Should I have done the resistors on the brake lights as well?

When you say each light are you saying you have 4 resistors installed. You should do a search or should have done a search. You did not do that the right way.. from memory i think all you need is one. As for the ohm i cant remember, 6 comes to mind.

----------------------------------

you need 2 3ohm resistors.... that info is for front and rear blinkers.
