They are E55 bixenon projectors with fresnel lens. They are not clear and that is why our cut off is not really blueish purple like 04-05 TSX.

I love oem hids.....oem goodness!

post pics after you change to new bulbs. Actually take before and after, for comparison. If the cutoff becomes sharper and little bit bluer, then keep em projectors stock. If no change, I guess you could swap with 3" clear lens. TSX lens is smaller at 2.5".

Examples of 3" clear lenses are STI-R and ZKW-R.

Get the ZKW-R clear lenses for the E55 projectors. I have that same exact set-up and love it. And of course the TSX set-up is better than the 03 Maxima. TSX uses projectors and 03 Maxima uses reflectors.

Hardest part is dremeling out the rivets holding the foreground limiter. Pretty easy.

It's easier to just bend the metal a little bit and the lens slides right out and then bend it back

ZKW-R is good but ZKW OEM is even better.

TL with OEM ZKW at 120. The purple shows up, the blue will show up at 130'. This would produce intense color flicker. The further the beam can be focused with sharp color band the more intense the flicker is. Intense means fast color flicker, makes you think they have disco ball inside the headlight. Sharp color band depends on how precise the cut off shield is, the bowl that produces overall hot spot, and the clear lens quality.

Heat it up all around with a heat gun.Oh don't forget there's 2 screws behind.Take em off before you heat it up and pry it open.
One question tho..why you wanna open it just for that?My advice is,if you do,go all out.Change that ugly yellow reflector to a white one, put some angel lights, leds, carbon fiber, black it out, whatever you could do to make it stand out. That's my opinion and what I did,if the lens is the only thing that bothers you, ain't nothing wrong on opening it up just for that .Good luck

I jus got my cbi osram bulbs. I was told to order the zkw-r Lenses to have better performance. Then another person told me to get the zkw oem Lenses there better then the zkw-r Lenses. Where can I get that clear side marker at? what do you think which Lense should I get? Know where to get the zkw-r from but can't find the zkw.

Home depot.Florescent lightning COVER.
-Get that cover and paste your stock reflector and cut it(wheel cutter, dremel).
-Get a silver reflector vinyl sticker(eBay or graphic vinyl shops).
-Place vinyl behind the custom cut reflector.
-Done
You can do it without the vinyl too.But it won't reflect and it will be kinda transparent (you will see the chrome through)

What are you taking the headlight lens off for? If you have OEM HID's, you don't have to remove the front lens, the projector pulls out through the back. 6 screws and it's out (2 for the heat shield, 4 for the projector).

No problem. Only the halogen headlights need to be opened to replace the projector.

Possible? Yes. Easily? No. The only direct swap projector would be the EvoX-R since it was based on the E55, same mounting points and everything. You can even move the foreground shields from the Maxima E55's to the EvoX-R's. Also, the FX-R lenses are 2.5" compared to the E55's 3", so that will have to be taken into account as well. If you want to use other projectors, you will have to open the headlight and modify the projector mount.

So EvoX-R is a direct swap even without opening the headlight? Would bixenon still work?

Yes it's a direct swap. It's the same size and shape as the Maxima E55 projectors, so they both can fit through the rear opening. The only thing that MIGHT have to be done is reversing the high beam solenoid wires. I noticed they were reversed of what ours are, and I asked theretrofitsource if the polarity mattered and they said yes. The only other thing is transferring the foreground shields, my belief is the projectors are recessed so deep in the headlight that the foreground shields are required to prevent too much light from hitting the bottom reflectors directly in front of the projectors. I currently don't have the shields installed and I noticed that head on my lights are a bit too bright, probably because of glare from those reflectors.

Oh, and another thing, because they are aftermarket projectors, you MAY need to do a little tweaking to get the full potential out of them.
