Hey all,
New to Maxima.org and I'm glad I signed up. Tons of information here. Here is my issue and I have done a lot of internet research on various websites including this one. I own a 2005 Maxima with BOSE system only. I have been riding around without a working system for over year now. I've read that the issue could be fuses, amplifier in the trunk. I checked the fuses on the driver's side and in the engine compartment and those are good. I tried an amplifier from a used auto parts store and that did not fix the issue either. I am at a point that I either want to take the car to a Nissan dealership and have them isolate what the issue is or go ahead and install a new Cd/radio receiver along with brand new speakers.

My questions to anyone that can help are:
1. Is it worth taking the car to Nissan dealership and have them isolate this issue and see if they can fix it? Would like to hear if anyone has done this and how much did this cost?
2. Should I go ahead and get the new system installed. I found a place that will install it for about $600-$700.
3. Has anyone else had this issue and what was the root cause?

Any help would be appreciated.

does the radio turn on? an after market amp will never work with a bose system.
it would be pointless to go to the dealership because the oem system parts are very expensive.

better off just buying aftermarket parts. i recomend you purchase all the parts your self online. harness, speakers, radio , steering wheel adapter and bring the parts to your local audio shop to install them you will get the items cheaper online. great place to buy radios etc are ebay and amazon.

Radio does turn on, just no sound. I think I will take your advice and go with aftermarket install. Thanks
