Major ABS problem
Major ABS problem
Hello everyone I am really hoping someone can help me on this issue cause clearly these forums are much more helpful that any (stealership) I own a 2007 Nissan Maxima SE edition and roughly 30 days ago my car started to seem almost as though it was losing 4th gear so I brought it into the Nissan Dealership and they didn't diagnose the problem and just automatically changed out the CVT so I received the car back thinking everything was perfect and it started to rain the next day and it was very muggy....so the car started acting up again. I called the dealership and had it brought back in. Now they are trying to tell me my car needs a new right rear ABS wheel speed sensor and that there bulletins also says to replace the ABS Actuator also...which I clearly don't think that should have to be changed. They told me is would cost 2,500 for everything. What the car is doing is revving high when you get the gas but the car wont speed up almost if like the traction control is activating. So I decided to pick my car back up and order an ABS speed sensor for the right rear and put it in tonight and see what happens and go from there.
Any suggestions would be so....appreciated!!!!

So frustrated
When I start the car and it hits 5MPH all of the dash lights come on ABS, SLIP, TRAC OFF...and you can hear the actuator make a funny noise for 5 seconds and then shut off. Me and my brother replaced the right rear speed sensor and it didn't fix the problem.....
thanks for your help

Not sure if its your problem but there is tsb on this. Right rear hub has poor drain, water collects and it rust giving abs sensor false reading engaging abs prematurely. Too fix need to take off brake and hub assembly. Clean thoroughly (i used wire brush) and then bore out drain hole (i used a dremel) clean and reinstall hub/brake and sensor. There was a bunch of old threads on this. Don't know if its your problem, but fixed mine
