5-sp Auto worth modding
Hello everyone,
I'm pretty new to all of this but I've just recently got a 5 speed auto max and was thinking of doing some mods to it, but For some reason a part of me is saying it wouldn't be worth it since it's an auto, fwd, n/a, sedan. Just feels like I should wait until I get a new vehicle in a couple years, because the traits I listed don't exactly sound sporty. Feedback is appreciated !!

Well I bought a brand new 2011 In 2011 but tragic story that cars life ended after a year and instead of buying a brand new car I just got an older max on cash just a month back now.

The 6th gens are very mod-able vehicles; tons of mods available for these cars; heck, there are tons of mods available for maximas in general. Just look around on the forums for ideas and you can see how far that people have taken their cars. It's up to you though. If you have two more years with the max, that's still a bit of time; if it were me, I would do some mods here and there, may as well enjoy the car for those two years.
However, I would make sure that all of the big maintenance stuff is out of the way first. As I'm sure you are aware, the valve body in the 5at is known to fail, and the timing chain tensioners / guides are prone to failure as well (indicated by whining and or rattle noises). Would hate to have you spend money on mods only to find out your transmission is about to go south.
Good luck with the car. Remember, A car doesn't have to have "sporty traits" to be modded into something beastly. With time and funds, anything is possible. Just ask "Jime." He has a 10 second 4th gen.

I am personally not a fan of modifications on an older car, as the value of the mods will be more than the value of the car.
I personally like stock cars, so I buy a car and make sure it works fine and all parts are good and that maintenance is done properly.
As for the fwd or 5at or whatever, I don't see an issue. You will not be able to turn your car into a porsche 911 even if you want to.
If you want a RWD car with a manual transmission, sell the max and buy one....
