tranny failed
tranny failed
well just my luck today i replaced the rear hub assembly on my car. when i was done i went to test drive it and car wouldn't go past 30mph. nissan said my tranny is shot and they will replace it under warranty. they also said the replacement transmission only has a 1 yr warranty. anyone replace their transmission and have another issue? not sure if i should keep the car after the repair kind of scared it may happen again my car only had 58k on it
You need to invest in a level 10 valve body fix. I was having trouble and my car went into safe mode. Switch over to auto manual and if it says 5 then your are also in safe mode. I bought the shift kit and its been perfect ever since.
Why bother with shift kit if dealer is willing to swap his transmission for free? Let them deal with it! I mean you are lucky you are still at 58. And yes, dealer tells you that they will warranty transmission (be it rebuild or brand new transmission, does not matter) because Nissan warranties all its parts for 12 months, regardless of mileage. I believe, labor is 12 months as well, but not sure.

If he is getting it covered by Nissan, he might be alright. Let them do the repairs and keep a very close eye on it. If the trans messes up even the slightest, take it in. Might want to look into an extended warranty. Sometimes you can get them to go 8 years. You still have low miles, might be worth looking into.
upon further research the transmission is covered up until the cars reaches 120k. makes me feel better. my fiancé and i recently paid the car off and the last thing we wanted to do right now is to get into another car loan
