reset 2004 maxima service engine soon light

I paid off my 2004 maxima and now the service engine soon light comes on and goes off. I am trying to get a loan on the car and was wondering how to turn off the service engine soon light so that the loan officer will not see it when he checks the car out. Will undoing the battery keep it off long enough so it wont come on when he looks at it or do i need to do something else?

You really are asking for a fellow member to give you some shady advice on how to fool a loan officer for a loan?

I am pretty sure this is not legal in any way... However that being said, take it to autozone and have them clear the code or get the damn car fixed.... :P
