I bought my maxima off some guy and the thing where you can see the mpg and all that don't work, the car has an aftermarket stereo so im thinking someone messed with it maybe it has to do with that? can someone help?

 

Famous last words... Any story that starts off like that is bound to be golden.

But yeah, it is possible that whoever did the radio install forgot to reconnect one of the harnesses. Open it up and have a look to see what might be going on. I'm not really sure if there is a fuse that protects that screen, but you can check all of them anyway.
