Hey whats up guys. Havent been on the org in awhile and feels good to be back on. My 04 maxima skyview roof is leaking inside through the sunglass area. It is also rusting. It looks like the seal is shot and i dont know what to do or where to go to get this fixed. Called over 5 glass shops and they dont do it. I live in Vernon, CT. If anyone knows or had this problem witch im sure people have its a common problem please let me know. Thanks.

Bring it to the dealership. There is a recall on this glass. I hope this helps.

What he said, had mine replaced way back in 03 or 04 under warranty as certain model number ranges had poorly cured glass which could break under stress. Probably not why its leaking but a replacement would probably solve your issue.

Thanks for the replys guys. Thats the other problem i didnt mention. My maxima doesnt fall under the recall they said. They checked the model number and said it was clear of any recalls.

That is really your best option. Trust me when I say have a professional do it. Don't want the headache. I think you might have to go to a Collision repair shop. If it is rusting, you will need to fix that prior to installing the new seal. So rust removal and touch-up painting will be needed. Most glass shops won't do that, and the dealer will not do the paint part.

I've got the same exact problem. I've tried pouring industrial-grade liquid sealant a couple of times, but at best, it only held for a couple of months until the temperature dipped below freezing - disintegrating the sealant.
I went to my autoglass shop in Enfield and the guy suggested I bring the car to an autobody shop (he recommended Olenders) where he can replace the seal. "If" (in other words "when") he finds rust during removal, the autobody shop can re-finish and re-paint it.
My car isn't rusting yet, but the autoglass guy told me he's seen rust in a lot of 2-3 year old Maximas when doing the recalls for Nissan way back when. This looks like it will be a $$$ fix, but it is the best option. I was thinking of trying some good silicone sealant myself, and if that doesn't work, then going the $$$ route. Maybe we get a "group" discount ?

get clear fast drying sealant and call it a day. I would do outside and inside.
