Max is down for a bit

I finally decided to put the max under the knife for a while. I have a 4 page list of stuff to accomplish this year on the max and today I took the battery out and tomorrow the work will commence. I will be posting pics of progress as I do the work and some writeups will follow. Most of my work will be done on the weekends, but some at night. I just went out today and drop 3k on a "new2me" white 91 300zx 2+2 NA. Pics of that will come tomorrow as well as before pics of the max. Drove about 2 hours to get the car today and 2 hours back. I must say for a Naturally Aspirated car, this thing hauls butt. Also sticks to the ground like glue through the corners. I have a build list for it, however that will not commence until I either hit a stopping point with the max, or it is finished. Obviously budget is always a concern, so there will be some down times with this build.

Here are some before pics of my max:

Not sure yet. Most of my work will be cosmetic. Not all but most. No major teardown of engine is planned. Just costs too much for such little gains while maintaining natural aspiration. The big gainers are on my list though. Will post my build list sometime this week.

the more I am looking on the net, the more I want to build up my 300zx. I could basically do this whole car the way I want in under $3k. Exterior and interior included. Do all the body work and paint myself. Still gonna have to wait. Max is priority right now. Raining today, so clearing more stuff in garage to make more room to do some work.

I am doing some fiber glassing of the front bumper, hood, rear bumper, fenders, interior dash, dome light glasses holder, rear window parcel, trunk-speaker box setup. Gonna take a while. I take my time to ensure things are done perfectly. Can't rush so can't drive. Most of the work is done at night and on the weekends. It rains a lot during winter here in Washington, so I have to pick and chose my days. Thinking of getting a tarp to assist on the rainy days so I don't lose a lot of time. So used to the luxuries of the max, I have to take this weekend and part of next week installing parts on the 300zx just to satisfy that itch. The stock exhaust on the Z is horrible. Parts are cheap and on the way for what I wanted to do. I will post those pics up as well. I have a lot of ideas, however not a lot of time. Going to the Depo right now to pick up the Fiberglass resin and some other items. Here is an idea of what I am shooting for. Obviously not a bentley, nor do I want the paint job.

Here is a super fast mock up pic of what it could look like. Blacked out Iron man headlights with sidemarker overlays of course.

LOL at first I didn't know what you were talking about. It is called MIO Pocket. It is an GUI that works on wince. Most GPS units where built on WINCE so I found this GUI program through GPSPASSION.com and added it to my custom GPS. I did a complete writeup on here a few years back on how to get a navigation system for under $200. Worked real good. I will be replacing it with a custom installed Nexus 7 tablet. Another project of mine.

Thanx. It's not as powerful, however still pretty fast. Always been a fan of the body style. Hard to get a hold of though. They only sold a little over 80k of them in the US from 1990-1996. The rarest are the SMZs they made 104 of them. Steve Millen Z (SMZ) STILLEN edition.

Well to start I am actually getting rid of it and installing a tablet there. If you GPS <200 it should come up. I wrote a step by step on how to do it. Once I finish my tablet install I will do a write-up as well.
