Anyone able to steer me to a vid or write-up to make this surgery?


I know I have to remove the plenum to get to it and have done this before, but want to be certain of any unexpected hiccups that I may encounter.

What's wrong with the current VCG? In any case, the 5.5 gen and 6th gen are very similar. These are for the VC itself, VCG is also covered in these, obviously.

Thanks for the post Nmexmax. Didn't checked other Gen's; figure the pics would be different.

Replaced the rear VC gasket (leaking close to the firewall), and was dumping a quart after 2000 miles from oil change (234K miles). Monitoring oil consumption going forward.

The job was not bad, took 3 1/2 hours and 2 trips to the store - rated difficulty level = 6.

Don't have a locking clamp pliers and 2 clips took >30 minutes to reposition. Attempted
the front VCG, had to abort - -the electricals in the way.....ggggrrrr

If anyone need directions then hola and will post a link how to change the plugs (replacing the VCG is only 10 bolts away and in the same dept for work) - didn't take pix

irrelevant difficulty level, because you have very little mechanical experience.

And moving some wires doesnt require you to abort a repair...

 

Hahah... comparing to where I was a few years back to now, and some folks on the board.....am doing daymnnnn good and saved thousands.
