Try to see if you have a vdc switch and turn it off because it apples the brakes for better traction when it senses the cars wheel spinning and it also cuts of throttle. Try turning it off and see if that makes a difference. On my 2009 nisssan murano SL I turned it off when I was on the highway and I felt the engine just picked up extra power.

Could be the mount, but could also be normal. My 07 does the same thing all the time, especially downhill, had it 5 years, had the mounts replaced early on and it still does it. I think it's a Nissan/CVT thing...seen it in the loaner Altima's i've driven too. If you want it to coast but not slow down, you gotta just barely engage the accelerator and it rolls like a GM.

Your Maxima is designed to do this. It's basically the transmission inducing engine braking. It definitely does feel awkward at times tho...

make sure all 4 calipers are sliding properly and no slide pin is sticking.
when is the last time you cleaned and greased your slide pins?

Outside the "normal behavior" discussion, that suggestion on checking calipers is good info.
