'Mood' lighting in overhead console replaced with LED
The 'mood' lighting in the overhead console on my 2004 is so dim it's not noticeable (keep in mind that this mood light dims with the setting of the dimmer switch for the dash lights). The factory bulb is a Toshiba 658 wedge, clear incandescent (compatible with standard 194 wedge bulb).
I replaced it with this https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...edge-base/205/ This is 65 lumens and 120 angle of light. I went with amber to match the dash lights. The aluminum base on this bulb was a little too big to fit in the holder behind the overhead console, but a bit of force and it all worked out. I'm quite happy with the results.
FWIW, I also tried a standard 194 LED wedge bulb with 6 leds (35 lumen and 20 degree angle) but the light was too dim and too narrow to light up the cupholder/shifter.

It nicely lights up the cup holder and shifter. I'll take a better pic tonight using a tripod so I can do a longer exposure with the camera. The key I think is the bulb I used is longer than the original wedge bulb (and replacement wedge bulbs like 194) and it's a higher lumen. . The 120 degree angle of light seems right too (you don't want a 360 degree bulb for example).
